Continued from tmukhub.proboards.com/post/361963/threadMicromasters fit in his legs!? cool! Oh. Weird! I don't know if I can cross the streams like that! I couldn't. I'm in a weird place where I've always adored Micromasters, but have no time whatsoever for Mini-Cons.

Minicons are half way between Powermasters and Micromasters. They're sentient robots like Micromasters, but power up bigger robots when attached, like Powermasters.

You always manage to explain things well to my Shockprowl mind, Pinwig...
I'm going to employ you as my permanent explainer.

While Micromasters and minicons may serve a different fictional role, they indeed serve the same niche as toys.
The only difference, as toys, are that minicons are more imaginative in their designs and engineering.

Yeah, I wasn't keen on most of the designs, I guess. Micros are nice and simple and do not have say, one huge arm that consists entirely of a missile.

Micromasters are much better toys than Minicons - that always fell apart in my experience.

They're very different.
Minicons are more inventive and turn into more interesting things, but at the same time it means a lot of them are just weird and rubbish.
There are too many Micromasters who transform identically, but when they do something interesting they are great.
Micromasters are really really solid figures, Minicons tend to fall apart.

Micromasters are really really solid figures, Minicons tend to fall apart. Not as badly as modern Micromasters do

Aside from the street racer team (or whatever the car trio was called), and the satellite, I never had a single problem with minicons falling apart. Most of them were pretty hearty. Especially the ones that were partners to larger toys.

I really like the modern ones. They look fab being busy on Countdown's base. I don't know what they're doing, but they're being very thorough about it.

Never really owned/seen a Micromaster, but they look good, and have BASES! I love bases. I amassed a decent haul of Minicons once upon a time. Some were fantastic, others less so, but there were some really funky fun designs in there. So, I'm voting 'both'!

There are too many Micromasters who transform identically, but when they do something interesting they are great. Micromasters are really really solid figures, Minicons tend to fall apart. This is pretty much what I was coming here to say. The original Micromasters were solid little toys, but once you'd played with a couple, you'd played with them all. But they were reliable. Minicons had more potential, but with that the potential to disappoint more, too. Neither's better, really. They're just ever so slightly different.

Never really owned/seen a Micromaster, SHOCKPROWL!!!-Ralph I, I, I, I'm sorry! I'd just, more-or-less, stopped buying Transformers by then! And, at the time, they didn't interest me neither. After my experiences with the similar Minicons, and my new ideas about small-scale classic-type figures, I can definitely see why they're Good Toys, with the bases 'n' that. I seem to remember having a fiddle with the Battle Patrol, long ago, can't recall how that came about... Did I buy them...? Or was it a friend....? ...it's lost in the mist of time....
