He looks good in his box.

He smells good. New. Plasticy.

Already the legs look dodgy.
Head sculpt is amazing.
Upper body too... The square shoulders and rounded bonnet... look robotic...
He's beefy. I like the look. Don't forget- strength 7, Endurance 9. Prowl's tough, baby.

Ok. I'm ok now. Let's start head down. His head looks superb. Large, but not too large, noble head crest. Face sculpt is SPOT ON. He has a steely gaze. Calculating, planning, whirl wheels within wheels... Standby. The body and arms are beefy, powerful. There's a lot of body behind his head. Too much...? Door-wings look good. Nice Cybertrony writing. Edit: I hope the Cybertronian writing doesn't say something like "I want Trupp's baby!" or something... Last Edit: about an hour ago by King Shockety-doo-dah I Backpack stands off him a bit, like Prime's. Not great, but not terrible. I don't like the removable roof lights. Don't see the point. He's a crisp white and a deep black. Looks good. Head has nice articulation, but the panel it's attached to, that holds up into the bonnet-chest section, just, I dunno, has a tiny gap all the way round... Shoulders are big and square. The shoulder section moves so the 5mm hole can go on the outside or top of his shoulder. Interesting. Last Edit: about an hour ago by King Shockety-doo-dah I Abdo is black and well detailed. Looks good actually. Being black. Biceps are black too. Body gappy from the side, but ok. Waist up I love him. I FREAKIN' LOVE HIM.But now... Now... His lower legs aren't bad! Tell you summat, his shin-windows, are AMAZING. THEY LOOK GORGEOUS. A combination of clear plastic and silvery details. It's revolutionary! It looks stunning. I haven't transformed him yet, but the windshield looks similar. Very impressed. But, behind the knees, hmmmmmmm. There's... There's nothing there! Gaptastrophy. Feet are short, but ok. Ankle tilt is great. His high-heels work and give stability, but do look a bit glam-rock. The gap behind the WONDERFUL shins is... bad. Aaaawwwwwww!!!! How can the lower legs look so good but also so bad?!?!?!?! From the front, apart from a missing notch just below the knee, the lower legs look futuristic and brilliant. I'm blown away by the shin-windows. Hadn't appreciated it in the pics. Superb glass-techno-effect. But, the gap, oh God what a shame! His thighs are skinny too. Stand him next to Siege Sideswipe and Hound, and they look too skinny. Almost disproportionate next to the nice beefy arms. I also don't like how the waist turns. Just the crotch-box turns, and the turner seems slightly too far back. His gun is a bit shit, but ok... ish. He's screaming out for shoulder-launchers. Last Edit: about an hour ago by King Shockety-doo-dah I Plastics good. Paint is good. Although mine has a tiny fleck of red paint on his head where it shouldn't be. No other QC issues though that I've found so far. They've even put silvery paint under his roof and on the backs of his exposed lower legs. Nice yellow detailing on his lower abdo, reminiscent of the G1 toy. No weathering... The translucent wheels look great. I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO MAKE OF HIM!In some ways he's a quite outstanding Prowl. The toughness, the head/face, the glorious techno-windows. But in other ways, he's he's he's- A DISAPPOINTMENT! Problematic, but still ok, include- gappy behind the backpack. Poor or missing weapons. Bizzar detaching roof lights. Slight crack-gap around the head panel. Problematic and disappointing include- skinny disproportionate thighs. Major problems- totally absent back of lower legs. I just can't believe it. The front of the legs are REVOLUTIONARY. But the backs...? It's like they just stopped designing him. But added silvery paint instead of some extra panel to enclose the backs of his legs. NEEEAAARGHH! SO CLOSE! SO CLOSE TO A TRULY EXCELLENT GENERATIONS PROWL!I'm in turmoil... Heh. Forgot he was a Transformer! Transformation is straightforward and pleasing. Even simple. And the car.... WOAW! OHHH MAMMA! Who's that sleek 'bot cruising down the street?!?! It's so sleek! So elegant! Luxurious! And the techno-windows look AMAZING! But it's... almost too sleek! Almost non-Prowl-like. Was this alt mode designed with Bluestreak in mind? Incredibly streamlined. Like a graceful elongated bubble car. The roof lights almost look out of place! Any weapons attached would look out of place, and indeed the only place to attach his rifle is a square shallow hole in the roof lights, which looks naff. I dunno... He's incredibly sleek and futuristic... but... too much so...? But again, the 'techno-windows' are to die for. I wonder if there could have been a design alteration- more car at the back, allowing a foldy flap to encase the lower legs...? The rear of the car is very short. Heh. Forgot he was a Transformer! I like how the bonnet chest is short Infront of his head.
But that leaves a bit of excess body behind his head, if you know what I mean.
It's like a car redesign should have been done.
The car is... too long... kind of thing....

There is...
There is a rectangular slot-hole in the backs of the lower legs. A Shapeways/Nonnef add-on section would plug right in. It would cover the gaptastrophy, de-glamrock the high-heels, and make the legs as beefy as the arms. Perhaps a panel to attach onto the thighs to make them wider.
Come on 3P add-on market good buddy, don't let me down...

GAH, he's so close! Why did they do the rear of the car that compact?!?! It would have still looked sleek and spacey with a longer rear, in which they could...

Fill the legs in, fore-arm blasters, beefy shoulder launchers...

That costs a lot more money, and waists a lot more plastic, than a removable lightbar that doesn't need to be taken off. With their part swapping, an added bonus is they might can give the tooling to another mold, such as Sideswipe for Red Alert. |

He's stood here on the table with my other Siege figures. If you angle him right, yeah, he looks good. A touch blander than the others, he needs some stickers, and DEFO needs shoulder launchers, but he looks great with his fancy techno-windows. Angle him off to the side and, yikes, those gappy legs, and to a certain extent thin thighs, make him look less good than the stars of the line so far: Sideswipe and Hound. Those two look finished, fully enclosed, Prowl doesn't look finished. But with some plug-ins and some stickers, he'll rock a phat one. So I am really pleased with him. He's better than Classics. It's just he could actually have been perfect, or very near-perfect, with a slight redesign to the car rear to give his legs some room so that they could finish him. I do wonder what goes through these designer's heads.
