Think I will make the effort and pop along to a local event for it in the morning before I need to go to a thing. See what they have. Anyone else doing RSD?

Success! They did have the 3 Bay TF movie albums. Coloured vinyl but the same photoshop covers as in back in the day and I don't care for the songs on them so I left them behind.
Very nice venue (old church). Sadly I will miss the live music as I have an OU thing to go to. There is a bar too. Decent effort from the organisers.

Sadly only one place near enough me to pop along and the website didnt list any of the Transformers soundtracks so I didn't bother.

The TF ones were just reissues of the 'songs from and inspired by' cd's of the first 3 Bay films (but on vinyl). Had there been new art I may have been tempted but easy pass.
Now a release of the 2007 score in a physical format...I'd be interested in that!
Aside from Doctor Who: Galaxy 4 I also got the Knight Rider RSD soundtrack and...Mickey Mouse Disco.
Art for Doctor Who: Destiny of the Daleks looked lovely but I don't like the story enough so left it.

I agree about the photoshop artwork but I enjoyed the 2007 soundtrack and am a bit surprised that I dont own ROTF or DOTM too.

IIRC part of the deal with Record Store Day is that participating outlets can sell them online 7 days after the event so merely wait a week...and strike!

This year it is being done as 3 'drops' on 3 different days. Today was drop 1. Some stores were doing 'socially distanced queues' but I wasn't risking it and was busy moving house anyway. Due to Current Circumstances, rules were relaxed so shops could sell online from 6pm. I had a few bookmarked but they all fell over as they were hammered and stock seemed to sell out instantly. Not fun at all. Took me an hour but finally ordered the 3 I wanted from 3 different sites. It was such a pain I didn't bother browsing to see if anything else tickled my fancy.
Not fun. Hopefully the more relaxing and enjoyable in-person experience can be had next year.

I don't have a record shop near me, so I tend not to get too excited about this, but Ginger Wildheart had a release out for this and it was scalped like the blazes. So much so that he went on Twitter and said that as an independent label, they print to demand, so will be just making more for those who couldn't get it. Anything to stiff the scalpers.
Which is, I think, a good thing.

Exactly. I approve of that band's response!
Moving it online was manna for heaven for scalpers this year and certain sites were clearly being hammered by bots clearing them out in seconds. It was awful. The complete opposite of the usual relaxed way it was where there is usually plenty of stock for everyone. Lots on unhappy people.

Aliens!!!
I look forward to it selling out in seconds. Last year's online RSD drops were a pain in the hoop. Scalped to fuck and if you weren't there bang on time no chance. A lot less relaxing than the nice in-person events.
