The Starscream strip sounds like the comic that was included in the tin case edition of the DVD. (Play.com exclusive in the UK and IIRC Walmart in the US.)

It's the Target comic strip with Bumblee using his 'robovision', with Wildman art. Also, the Figueroa/Wildman strip showing the Decepticons arriving on Earth: I recall it being free to read on-line.
Comic is called the 'Movie Prequel Special' and came out this week.

Yet another retread of pre-movie events. Yawn!

Ah, I'd forgotten all about them. That explains why this feels like a slapdash mish-mash of leftover strips.
Still twaddle, but at least now I understand the reasoning behind publishing it.

I bought it even though I had no idea what it was.
I find the movie-verse TF designs really unattractive in comics - they're just too busy and ugly; as a result Don's stuff was giving me a right headache, but at least Wildman's slightly simplified versions were easier to read. Ryall's writing is really chunky - I don't remember the full prequel being so bad - and despite the use of the word robovision Furman really shows him up to be the amateur he is, and one particularly lacking in gifts at that (I'm feeling harsh).
But for all those complaints, by the time I got to the last few pages I did feel slightly lulled by it and ready to go to sleep.
Either that, or I was just bored.
