Just wait - thanks to the Brexit dividend, the inevitable MP-48+ will be £300.

In hand pics surfacing. Glad I got my pre order cancelled. Seems a bit bland and as much as I like the aesthetic on screen, not sure it works toy wise or in line with what I want from MP... Waiting on qc reports, let's see if this is Hound bad.

Blackarachnia's QC is alright. No issues on mine, nor have I heard about any.

So theirs are coming from Hasbro US rather than Takara: Pulse similarly delayed I believe.

Yeah, I mean, he looks like a good sculpt, but I'm definitely holding out for a toy colours repaint - it should make the thing look a lot less bland.

Gosh darn those sidepanels (or lack thereof) are criminal.
Guy is full of ratchets though, such a mixed bag this.

I just cannot see what's better with this one. It's like the original was the Masterpiece version.

I see the MP has a lion on one shoulder and a duck on the other.

I adore the MP robot mode, but the lion...? Oh dear.

So the Masterpiece is smaller than the original and has fewer play features. Right...

Well the MP rear lion legs are pretty decent looking.
Does the original suffer from GPS like BW2 Galvatron does?

Opened Lio Convoy. Small paint chip on the chest, otherwise, fantastic toy. Looks great in both modes as long as you don't look at the side of the lion too long. I think I have some paint that should match so I can try to cover that chip.

Got mine today. No QC issues.
Wanna love it. I definitely don't hate it, but I don't love it as much as I want to.
The problem is it's far too clever for it's own good. Their effort to match the anime aesthetic (that will likely never be seen again in this line), has made him far more complex than he needs to be, resulting in an extremely fiddly toy in which every single part moves. Unless I did him completely wrong, there's absolutely nothing to hold his mane panels in place in robot mode, except hinge tension. Also very much not a fan of the cartoon lion mode.
However, aside from the fiddly nature, I love the robot mode. I adore LioConvoy's overall design, but wasn't a fan of the original toy itself. Never felt it held up well to other BW toys like Primal. Always felt flat, and I dunno if mine had poor QC, or if it was poorly engineered, but mine never tabbed together well in robot mode.
This one is much more solid, and a much more three dimensional figure.
But the extreme anime aesthetic does work against it in both modes. Robot mode is too simple. It just needs a fur pattern or something. It's too roboty for a BW character.
It's a mixed bag. I don't hate it. I definitely don't regret buying him (unless Takara announces a toy version with fur pattern and a wholly new lion head and mane next week, which of course they absolutely will). But he's not the best of the bunch.
