4811/8000 with 4 days and 20 hours to go.
That is a sudden jump but does square with around 1500 orders to add as it was in low 3000's yesterday.

The jump is spurring people on though, that's almost 150 more backers in the last nine hours. I reckon once people think this has a chance to fund, it'll snowball like the barge did.

I really don't understand this logic.
Maybe it'd make sense if the more backers it got, the most features it had so you get better value at more backers, but just for it to fund? It's not like you have to pay the money if it doesn't fund.
I can however see a late push as the FOMO kicks in or people have managed to find the money.

I think I get it. At 3000 I don't have to worry about it because it doesn't look like it will fund. Dilemma averted. At 5000 it looks more likely so there's a chance this will happen and I miss out if I don't back. I start to worry. At 7000 chances are the last push will put this over the line, so I have to move not to miss out. That completest feeling kicks in and the desire not to be left out. Boom, the numbers go mental in the last few days as thousands of others feel the same.
For a lot of collectors that feeling of not wanting to be left behind is really strong. It's why preorders exist. A lot of people will feel forced to buy this if it exists, but while it seems unlikely they can ignore it.

The more I look at it, the less I like it. It's just so boring and plain. For $600 I want a little bang for my buck. Lights and sounds and a planetmouth that's not just the same orange as the rest of him. Where's the apocalyptic red light? The multicoloured greeblies on his ring? A soundbite of the RRRAAAAAAAGH roar? Anything?
A tiny Galvatron and a fake mustache does not a wowzers make.

Being able to eat Galvatron and have a beard for the new one are cool though baffling to be revealed so late! -Ralph

Having to remind myself that Galvatron would be a 3D printed mockup, because it looks terrible. Not even Titanmaster quality. What kind of incentive is that? Trypticon could actually EAT Titanmasters.

The size is supposed to be it's main selling point. But it really is a dealbreaker for me. The Supreme class Unicron is almost too big to play with. The titan class are too big to play around with. I almost feel like I'm trying to change a two year old's diaper as I move Metroplex' and Max's legs around to transform them.
And at nearly twenty pounds, this guy will crush your lap as you sit there and try to transform him.
All that said, it's the planet mode that keeps nearly breaking me to wanting him.

Likewise, if that planet mode lit up Im 90% sure I'd have ordered it already.
And that Galvatron just proves how pointless trying to make him big is. Galvatron would need to be at least 90% smaller to be anything like the scale from the scene in the movie, which was horribly out of scale already. Its never going to be big enough so just make it good.

TFSExpress say they have around 200 orders and that number wasn't included in the sudden 1500 jump. They also seem to think TTMall wasn't included either, in which case, I'd say this is about there. Question is though, what was the jump?!

Yes. Shenanigans. For sure.
Poor Cookie Monster. Intentionally thrown on the sword...
I've dream of a humongous Unicron figure. But, this is just too expensive. Ridiculous amount of money. I cannot justify it. So, it's for that reason, that I am officially declaring myself OUT.

Skimming the millions of pages this is generating on TFW, it seems the 1500 jump might have been pre-orders from Hasbro affiliates worldwide rather than third party resellers like BBTS. But the signal to noise ratio over there is not particularly good. It also doesn't make sense because TFE say their 200 orders are definitely not included yet, but they've been offering wholesale orders, so they must be going through an official channel.

Honestly there is nothing in this unicron that couldn't have been done with a Titan.
To get him big enough to the other toys that he just doesn't look preposterously out of scale, he would have to verge on being the size of a skyscraper.
The other titans are ridiculously undersized, as well for what they're supposed to be: cities. But they're still impressively huge toys. And that's really all you can reasonably and realistically want out of a Unicron toy.
From his transformation, he basically curls up into a fetal position, while his entire planet mode shell unfolds from his back and legs. That can be done in Titan. It's not really complex.
Personally, i think Haslabs would be better suited to other things than a Big Damn Figure, like funding a wave of toys they're unsure of (beast wars updates for example, or more TF Animated), transforming playsets like the Ark (transforms from spaceship to "crash site," where the shell becomes Mt Saint Hillary with the engines poking out one side, and autobot HQ on the other), or if that absolutely want a Big Damn Figure, there's always TFA Omega Supreme. This size would be about perfect for him, too.

Maybe their channel has already placed orders for other businesses but TFE are placing their in one large block at the end of the window. Honestly though it doesnt seem like there are enough retailers offering to middle man these unless BBTS has appealed to a lot of Americans as an instalment plan option or various Hasbro subidaries are placing orders. But then if Hasbro UK is placing orders it surely would be in their interest ot announce that before many of their potential customers buy it from other sources.
