BACKER DEADLINE IS OFFICIALLY EXTENDED!
TRANSFORMERS fans... it's not over for The Lord of Chaos quite yet!
We've been reading your comments and listening to your feedback about wanting more time, and we're excited to share that we are officially extending the campaign date for the TRANSFORMERS: WAR FOR CYBERTRON UNICRON HasLab project through New York Comic Con, ending Sunday, October 6, 2019.
We wouldn't be where we are in the campaign without our fans and we are so appreciative of the overwhelming support on the project thus far. We want to make this dream item a reality just as much as you and feel that this extension will help get us to the 8,000 backer goal!
For those that have already backed the project, your card will not be charged until the new end date - October 6, 2019. Also note that you can still cancel your order if you no longer want to be part of TRANSFORMERS history. Just log into your account on HasbroPulse.com to cancel your order.

Interesting move. Does that suggest they genuinely feared it wouldn't reach 8000?

Yes it does, and it also shows there was no reason at all for such an arbitrarily short deadline in the first place.
They coulda put the bloated bitchball up back in early spring.

Cookie Monster didn't get a reprieve. -Ralph Yes, but what I mean is, it matters to Hasbro. We assumed it would be fudged to make it reach 8000 if it was under by manipulating the remaining affiliate and third party orders, but Hasbro clearly think they can get more out if this. 3 days short of the final target. I think they've realised it it isn't close enough to target to have triggered the snowball effect of additional orders that would come if it definitely funds. I don't think this means Hasbro were worried it wouldn't reach 8000, it means they know there are several thousand additional orders they would get if at this point it was looking likely to the public it would fund. The 'i don't want to miss out' orders haven't triggered because at the moment it doesn't look like it'll get there. That's what they want.

'I don't want to miss out' is a terrible reason to spend this much money in this way.

You're right, but it's what happened with the barge and Hasbro know that. We didn't quite reach that point with Unicron.

After remembering that I paid up for MP-44, I'm kind of grateful for the extra pay day this will allow.

Whelp. It officially would have failed, without shenanigans.
I still think smaller and cheaper, it would have funded. Or even if they had given it all summer, independent of the exclusive apocalypse.

I think sticking the price up and raising the numbers, at the same time, over The Sail Barge is essentially where they went wrong. The Sail Barge also has the advantage of never having been done before where Unicron has.
Still not sure it'll get there.

Indeed, for Unicron there are other options. He has been out several times. Heck, there is a green version of him out right now.
Even an older Unicron MISB is cheaper than the new one.
I do think a more movie-esque Unicron would have been funded by now though if it was cheaper, smaller and customers outwith US/Canada could order through Pulse.
Sail Barge was a new thing so had some draw to it.

We are now beyond the original deadline! Will Unicron need the full extra 35 days (!) to get there?
