I do actually really like the test sample colours.
Great sense of fun to the commentary and pictures. Much better than the bland PR speak of the promo campaign.

Now if I'd known that a cat was going to be involved then I would've put in a pre-order of my own.

Yeah, if I had known Unicron could go fishing I would have not paid rent and council tax for a month to order one.

Likewise, it's a ridiculously big toy and I love it.

I plan to operate the concessions stand for when Andu has tours of his giant Unicron maw.

Two things spring to mind there... one, they don't show you the figure after the testing and two, I can drop boxes for you without the need for big expensive machines.

And that answers my question of what to do with the box.
Oversized step stool it is.

That's a lot of human labour! I reckon those packing guys hate Unicron.

Great video - always wanted to see how toys are made!
But why have they changed the colour of the 'mouth' in planet mode? Surely that should be orange so that the 'teeth' blend in with it?

I guess I thought that the paint apps were applied by machines now.
This honestly changes my entire outlook on paint apps. Those gorgeously painted figures are even greater works of art, while I don't think minor flaws will bother me anymore.
I wish I could thank them for contributing to the years of meaningful enjoyment I have gotten from these toys.
Something that also pegged onto me while looking at these pictures, is that I'll never complain about them being packed in robot mode again, or very minor misassebly errors (like TR Kup) again. The robot mode thing, especially because I now recognize it's easier to put the parts together in robot mode, which means someone had to transform them from robot to alt mode for packaging. Leaving it in robot mode just takes out an unnecessary step and makes their jobs a bit easier.

"But officer, I've got to try and save the Multiverse!"
"Uh huh, and how far is that?"
"A distance greater than mans mind may reach, yet as close as a single step?"
"Right. Here's a £500 notice of a fine, and I'll just escort you home, shall I?"

That said, I can't wait to see two or three of these on the Toy-Fu stall in a couple of years.

Right, if this is now done, come on Hasbro, give us a Haslab project we're not expecting. You've worked out $350 is the sweet spot, what can you do?
