When a job needs doing by real men, who do you call?
VOTE.

Not as tough a vote as I first thought.

I think the telly has taught us the best ambulance men are... Women.

My inner sense of equality is preventing me from considering this. I'm not sure what a 'real' man is these days.

I see one all the time....
When I look in a mirror.
Or other reflective surface.
Such as a body of water.
Or a large spoon.

Oh you're a 'real' man are you?
In which case, why has no hubber ever seen you?
So tempted to do a Toby Hadoke style 'looking for' documentary.
Looking for Shockprowl. Good use of the summer holiday.

I really should meet some of you. It is getting a bit silly now. But I don't think it'll be this summer. I have too much on. And... well I'm still not entirely sure any of you exist.... I think.... I think the FIRST one I should meet can only be.... The Doctor...

Wouldn't it be fun if we'd all met Shockprowl at various parts of our lives and never realised?

I went to Skipton. I saw no Shockprowl. Funny, we usually don't let commoners in.

Two doors down from me lives a lovely old chap. Last night as I was closing the curtains about half eleven I saw an ambulance pull up outside his house, followed soon after by a paramedic car. They took a gurney from the back of the ambulance into the house. I didn't want to stand and watch because I felt it was invading the old guy's privacy, but I saw the mixture of determination and camaraderie on the faces of the two men that went in. For a moment I thought about the job that Shockprowl does and I realised it's something I could never do. He's the real man here.

That's a nice thing to say.
Almost as nice as standing up infront of a classroom full of adolescents trying to convince them to sculpt their lives into something resembling a success.
(And we don't call them a gurney. A gurney? What are you, an Americorn? It's a stretcher. Stretcher. Any of my students call it a gurney and I give them a whipping with my stethoscope.)

Really? I thought a gurney was a stretcher with wheels. Coo. I've been educated! Stretchers can have wheels!

Some still call it a 'cot' (?!?!). That really pisses me off. They get hard whipped.

I bet they do. Cots are for babies.

I just acquired Metal Men '93 mini-series #3, finally completing the 4 issue set, I have had an obvious choice here.
I am not sure why I only ended up with issues 1,2&4 25 years ago, but I did.

The people have spoken. When a job needs doing by real men, the Hub will call in the Mr Men, and a woman.
