So I was watching Kevin Smith's Comic Book Men series and typically people will come in with various pop culture memorabilia, vintage toys or other modern collectibles, including comics. I only was buying regularly in the mid-90s - starting with the Superman Dead Again and Conduit stories and a complete first 3 year run of The Batman Adventures. There are other specials in there, Aliens, Lobo etc. so I wasn't expecting any of my collection to end up on the show - enter a gentleman wanting to sell his The Batman Adventures #12. Turns out, this issue has the first comic appearance off Harley Quinn and I'm pretty shocked at how much this is going for. Given that my copy has never been read (I had the collected editions Vol.#1 and Vol.#2 which had the first 12 issues so I'd read that and got the actual issue purely to complete my collection), it's going to be fairly high graded - with one caveat - it has a price sticker on it, £0.80 Are there any gems in your collection that you unexpectedly found out were worth a surprising amount? How did you find out? Did you get graded and sell? Frame?

TFUK issue 1 appeared in my collection at some point in the last 10 years, im not quite sure from where or when. Its not in great shape but considering they are getting harder to find it is a nice bonus from whatever lot of comics I assume it came with.

I picked up Death's Head II issues at a mart. They were all signed by the creative team and they were personalised to Andy.
RESULT!

The Batman Adventures #12 slabbed at 9.8 went for £1000+ on eBay a few days ago. I don't think mine would garner that much.

About a decade back I somewhat randomly decided to collect old Ms. Marvel comics (they were not expensive back then), and in one of the lots I bought was Carol Danvers' first appearance in Marvel Superheroes #13, and in pretty good condition. It's gone up in value this year...
