Suiken was the first Japanese exclusive G1 figure I picked up back at Transforce 1999 for a whopping 20 quid [sealed Zone box].
Looking forward to this one for the nostalgia hit.

I took the time to open Shouki and have a bit of a play around and transform at the weekend - he might be expensive, but he's a wonderful figure.
The train mode is very striking, beautiful detailing and colours, and it's incredible that they managed to get a functional cockpit in there despite everything this toy has to do.
Masterful engineering - the instructions look daunting, but it all makes sense and was never frustrating (and my daughter had fun helping out) and there are some clever little touches in there.
Robot mode is also beautiful, and remarkably poseable, again considering how much the toy has to do.
No regrets going in on this line so far.

MPG-07 Trainbot Ginoh     Train is based on a Doctor Yellow model, these are test trains used to monitor track conditions. This is not the Diaclone alternate colour, there was a Doctor Yellow train in that set but it was the Yukikaze mould. Alt colour Shouki was silver chrome. This has a different chest piece for Raiden. No word yet whether they're planning another set of alternate colours or if this is just a one-off. |
