But then I am finding the fallout from Revelations quite hilarious. I have no idea how the show is being received. For myself, I watched an episode and a bit. Didn't enjoy it so won't watch any more. If it makes some people happy that's great. There's another He-Man show in production anyway so something for everything. I know I am certainly enjoying the new toys the resurgence of MOTU has provided for. So if a show that isn't my thing results in toys I do like then that is fine. -Ralph

Dont see anything wrong with his comments. But then I am finding the fallout from Revelations quite hilarious. It's his choice of languange. Swearing about it makes him look like a petty ned. Displays a lack of being able to articulate a point. That's not how you convince viewers to give your show a watch. Can you imagine the producer of Coronation St telling people to fuck off? -Ralph Fair enough, but then thats his brand and those people complaining will no doubt either watch the show to complain about it irrelevant of how much time they have spent slagging it off (see Kingdom next week) or will have already decided to boycott because they have to make a stand against wokeness or something.

Its just the ones whose expectations are being up ended due to their expectations of Smith that I am finding enjoyment in.

The article does make a point at the start that Smith is known for his language. I guess if you know Kevin Smith, you know what you're getting.
It didn't read as too bad to me, but tone is lacking in the written word.

People are complaining about "wokeness"? Er, um. That puzzles me, based on what I watched of the show.

It didn't read as too bad to me, but tone is lacking in the written word. That may be so, but he is working on a children's property. He should learn to wind it in a bit and watch his language when promoting it. It's unprofessional. You don't see the folks doing, for example, Netflix's TF shows talking like that in interviews. Anyway, if folk like the new MOTU show itself I have absolutely no problem or issue with that. -Ralph

I was intending to watch the first episode this afternoon to see what it's all about, having read a big article about it in SFX. Ended up watching all five. Loved it! Can't wait for part two.
I need the toys now. Obviously. And to watch the original again.

The only thing I wasnt that keen on was the art style (lovely animation though) so thats saving me from wanting any of the toys.
Efforts to resist the classics or whatever they are called, are ongoing.

I have resisted the origins ones on the grounds I'll never get caught up. Although the vehicles are a big draw. If I'd realised what was happening when they started I'd have probably been in, but working out what's what with MotU when you're an outsider is not easy. As said before, I'd be all in on collecting a line that has vehicles and playsets with decent figures. I'm crying out for that because it's the one thing Transformers doesn't do. I think this is why I finally clicked with Micromasters.

Yup, and it's a playset with a figure for the price of a TF Commander...

I've noticed this about the origins line in general. Everything seems to be slightly cheaper than you'd expect it to be.

Enjoyed it.
They clearly had a story idea and then forced a couple of things to make it work (a pet peeve of mine) but on the whole pretty good.
I think all who have watched it are in agreement that Tri-Klops new hat is quite frankly amazing.

I never liked MOTU as a child, but I found the Kevin Smith series quite enjoyable. Like Matt, my main criticism is Mark Hamill using his Joker voice rather than coming up with something new. Sick of all of people complaining about 'wokeness' online - just take your bigoted views back to your man caves.

I enjoyed Revelation. There was a couple of things I wasn't hot on (One of those was the Joker voice for Skeletor) but I enjoyed this a lot. Teela's storyline is great and I look forward to next batch of episodes.
Tri-Clops voiced by Henry Rollins was awesome. I hope this cult leader variant gets a figure reveal soon.

I guess people's complaints that Teela stole the show might not have anything to do with her being a woman, but simply that she isn't He Man. It could have been Fisto, Clamp Champ or Stratos in her place and these people would feel the same. Ram Man show would have been the best of course! Where was he!?

I'd like to believe that, but for far too many I dont for even a second. The pattern of female characters introduced into existing fiction or existing characters given larger roles followed by "fan" backlash* has been too consistant for too long. *bigotted man baby backlash

Sadly, fanboy rage at having a lead female character is not a new thing. I recall some Trek 'fans' kicking off in the 90's because Voyager had a female Captain.

I watched part 2 this afternoon. I really enjoyed that. I like the way over the ten episodes the focus shifts between different characters and keeps He-Man himself in reserve for specific moments. Everyone gets to develop in one way or another and Evil-Lyn gets a real character push in part 2. Hope there's a third part.

Finally watched Part 2.
Enoyable enough, but felt a bit thin in places in terms of plot.

Yep, the new episodes drop on the same day that the Conjunx flies back to Singapore. I did explain that Netflix was a worldwide thing and that there was no escaping it, but it didn't seem to make any difference...
