Watchmen (HBO Series)

Managed to squeeze in all 9 episodes over the weekend.

Legitimately good watch. Respected the source material, built upon legacies and a good plot development along the way, although it does devolve into a few retrospective episodes prior to the finale to give us answers.

Some great performances from the cast, but Jeremy Irons is *perfect* in his role. The only downside I find is it's like all great actors with great characters to play, you spend much of the rest of the time waiting them to be back on screen, as with Heath Ledger in DKR or Peter Dinklage in GoT.

I hope they don't continue the series, it really doesn't need it and the ending is best left as is.

I'd hate to be someone watching this who wasn't familiar with the source material though. I feel like they'd be clueless as to what was going on.

No one else saw this? I need to discuss a few things (Final episode spoilers)..

{Spoiler}So how does the whole Hooded Justice plot affect the outcome of the Dr. Manhattan plot?

Without it, Adrian Veitch would have still been rescued, would have still been present at the capture of Dr. Manhattan and then teleported back to his lab and still dropped the frozen squidlies on Tulsa.

If Judd Crawford had not been killed by Hooded Justice (which only happened because of Angela Abar asked Dr. Manahattan in the past to ask how Will Reeves knew of him being KKK/7th Kavalry) would the 7th Kavalry not aided Cyclops with their plan to capture Dr. Manhattan? That would link things up nicely, but I don't recall any such impact following the murder of Judd.

I guess I just have expectations for things to not be quite so loosely linked. Having two concurrent plots linked only by characters experiencing them is fine.
