It is an interesting idea you've got though, that auntie was an Autobot forcibly removed from her body and embedded into the Ark against her will to become it's flight computer. That's pretty sinister. You should get help.
All of this also suggests that the UK marvel offices were provided with a copy of the treatment for the comic before Budianski amended it, or that Furman was intrigued by the original idea despite the name change. Like that reference to Aunty in the first US issue, it's an insight into the evolution of the comic. Furman's wording in Raiders echoes Shooter's notes, but Budianski was the one who crossed out Auntie and wrote Ark instead. Course this is also where Teletraan-1 came from.

12. THE SPACE BRIDGE
Straxus forced the neutral scientist Spanner to make a Space Bridge from his own body and then callously sent his troops (like Crosscut) to their deaths in order to test if it worked.
Original/creative thinking - 5 (twisted thinking on Straxus's part, but he relied on another for the scientific genius) Level of ambition - 5 (give him credit for showing some interest in conquering a new planet, though he's apparently been doing very little on that score for the last few million years, until he got Soundwave's message) Level of evilness - 9 (treatment of Spanner is just sadistic, and the deaths of his troops were completely unnecessary - he should have just used a Big Trak)

I must start some proper progress with our extension. Keep putting off finding an architect.
At least get a cafetiere. We used to have a coffee club at school where each week one member would bring in a ground coffee we hadn't tried and rated it. I made a chart of the best. However, best is very subjective when it comes to coffee.

I've been pondering this all morning. Shockprowl's tea rooms. What's on the menu? Or is this the works canteen on the ground floor of the Ambulance Admiral's offices?
I favour the tea rooms option. Yorkshire's finest.

Ahem. Back on topic, if you please... 13. SCAVENGER'S SONIC LANCE Soundwave credited Scavenger for the sonic lance that drove Grimlock and Sludge wild in Dinobot Hunt Part 4. A casual reader might assume this meant Scavenger built the thing, but his TFU entry www.ntfa.net/universe/english/index.php?act=view&char=Scavenger and intelligence rating of 2 make it much more likely that he found it lying around somewhere. Original/creative thinking - 2 (assuming Scavenger just found it and dusted it off for Soundwave, who had the brainwave of using it on the Dinobots) Level of ambition - 1 (Scavenger just wants some praise from his commanding officer) Level of evilness - 4 (pretty evil, as it resulted in a town being wiped off the map) Martin

Which one always should unless there's a strong case to argue that an error has been made. Scavenger's tech-specs are not inappropriate for his character description, so I assume they are the ratings Uncle Bob intended him to have. If you doubt statements made in fiction by the principal author as a matter of course, that way leads only to madness!

14. THE FLASHBACK DOORWAY
Earthforce Megatron (whoever he was) acquired (invented/built/bought/stole?) what was, as far as we know, the first time-travel device in the hands of present-day Transformers. He tried to use it to change the past by stopping Starscream killing the Seacons. Prowl thwarted him, and we don't know what became of it after that.
Original/creative thinking - 7 (the most advanced/impressive piece of present-day TF technology, used in a very unimaginative way) Level of ambition - 2 (was saving the Seacons really the most profitable way to make use of it?) Level of evilness - 2 (not terribly evil, trying to save a few lives, albeit to use in a war)

15. THE GLOBAL WARMING SATELLITE Earthforce Megatron (whoever he was) tried to launch a satellite containing rare gases that would trap the sun's heat and make Earth uninhabitable. Once again it was Prowl who saved the day. Original/creative thinking - 4 (the humans had already invented global warming - Megatron just thought of greatly speeding it up) Level of ambition - 8 (possibly the Decepticons' most ambitious energy-harvesting scheme to date) Level of evilness - 10 (it would wipe out all life on Earth) Martin

16. GALVATRON'S VERY LARGE GUN
Galvatron directed the Constructicons to build a gun capable of destroying Unicron with a single shot, although it possibly required twenty years to build up the charge for that one shot.
Original/creative thinking - 8 (assuming the technology was sound, it was a work of genius, albeit simple in effect) Level of ambition - 10 (turning Earth into a Death Star and destroying the biggest Transformer in creation) Level of evilness - 6 (destroying Unicron is a good thing, destroying Autobot City in the process less so)

I've always thought it was a bit odd that he had one cannon and one shot....
It would be more interesting to think he jumped around many places and times building many of these things all primed to fire on... one time... one place... BOOM.
And to think people credit the Matrix with destroying Unicron. Really?

17. MIND-BUGS AND PSYCHO-PROBES Leading Decepticons use various machines to invade the dreams of their subjects and turn them from enemies to allies. Original/creative thinking - 5 (has potential in theory, but it doesn't really work in practice) Level of ambition - 6 (acquisition of powerful but expendable agents) Level of evilness - 8 (pretty evil - viewing subject's private thoughts and altering their beliefs) Martin
