Problem is now I can see it on other Earthrise Prime's backshots. Here's Netflix:

All this just proves the superiority of Siege Optimus Prime.

In fact, no. No no. The Curse of the Smiling Optim Ass has befallen you all for your UNFATHOMABLE and and and DISGUSTING support of these hideous Dead Prime repaints.
You have been judged.
I hope you're all happy. Clutching your defilements of The One True Prime in your cold cursed claws. Edging ever closer to damnation...

The One True Prime, IE the chosen ones are Rodimus Prime and Optimus Primal.

Hotrod was the chosen one according to Primus and/or the Matrix. Not Optimus Prime. This is canon.
Optimus Primal was also chosen by the Allspark and the Oracle (both likely parts of Primus) to return the balance of technology and organics to Cybertron. Not Optimus Prime. This is also canon.
Optimus Prime's shining contribution is he crashed his spaceship into a volcano.

Sunbow - used the Matrix to stop the hate plague from leading to the deaths of everything. Think that definitely counts as "an Autobot shall rise from our rank and use the power of the matrix to light our darkest hour"
Marvel - stopped Unicron by using the Matrix, ended the war for a bit, stopped The Swarm by using The Matrix.
I think thats a pretty good case for Chosen One!

True, but that wasn't the story's narrative for him the way it was for Rodimus and Primal, though.

Nope. And yes. The only BW that is canonically the G1 character as per the toy bios, is Grimlock. But by that same token, Primal and Megatron are too. But unlike most, the toy bios aren't just about the only fiction for those two. TM2 Prowl the Owl thinks he's G1 Prowl reincarnated, and the Magnaboss trio never had bios, and are only G1 through fan driven retcons.
All fiction has since divorced Primal and Megatron from their namesakes. With even more recent fiction retconning Megatron as having named himself after The Fallen (Megatronus), instead of Megatron (G1). Primal was just the captain of a science ship running a transport mission who happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time, as the only ship that could stop Megatron. He's basically Captain Sisko.

Prime not being a Chosen One and relying on his own skill and judgment rather than mystical destiny strikes me as a much more compelling story anyway. This was a nice thing about Animated.

He's basically Captain Sisko. Which is why Beast Wars is the best. Clearly.

Now I have finally properly compared them, Siege Prime is far superior to ER Prime. Chunkier, more fun, better articulation. Much better toy.

Siege has dreadful kibble round the lower arms. The vehicle mode is a mess. And no trailer.
