But how long until Phil cracks and pays £60 for a Battlemaster he does not have?

I found the deluxes today, and got Mirage and Scrapface.
I was originally going to pass on Scrapface, because I neither needed, nor wanted a seventh copy of this mold.
But gosh dang, if he isn't the prettiest TF we've had in a long time. And this shiny paint? I would be so down for reissues of every vac-metallized beast era mold, replacing the chrome with this quality paint.
Mirage... It's nice to actually see the details on this mold. The only other version I have is the clear blue "invisible" version. I didn't realize that the fake spoiler chest was an actual seperate piece from the part od the chest everything is attached to. It would take the absolute most minimal effort to turn this mold into Slapdash, and I will be furious if that doesn't happen. But I really wish this version used the toy head, while the invisible version used the cartoon head.

I found the deluxes today, and got Mirage and Scrapface. Out of interest, how plentiful are Deluxes over there? In the UK, their availability has been a bit...fraught. I think the white packaging really pops, compared to the darker Siege ones. Do they stand out on shelves more? -Ralph

Mirage and Scrapface have arrived. Alas, Scrapface has a scratch on the face (the roulette of online toy buying). It won't bother me so much when at some point I track down another 2 of him. I must. I have no choice.

This was one walmart, out of town, and the first time I've been to a walmart in at least two weeks, and the first time I been to that one in over a month. For all I know, they put them out the night before and this is the only store that got them. But in this singular instance, looked to be two or three cases of both deluxes and voyagers, each. They were both stacked on the shelves two high. And I agree on the packaging. But then I have not been a fan of Siege's dark packaging that swallows up the toy.

I think now that I see them in hand, Decepticon Mirage is the stand-out of this line. Amazing paint job. If a fan only wants one W*NC it's that one.
Hotlink and Scrapface also have gorgeous paint jobs in hand.
Actually, I would say the paint jobs on the whole line are great. Even Hound looks good, despite being the least different from its original Siege release.
Definitely getting another 2 Scrapfaces when there are more in the retail chain.

What about Megatron? I need to know if I buy now or wait for a sale.
If a 3P company do Hotlink's proper flamethrower I'll have to get him straight away.

Megatron is good. Whether you wait depends on whether you think £40 is worth it for a Voyager and two Battlemasters. I suspect it will shelfwarm as the much cheaper Siege Megatron is still available and this is just a shinier version rather than a radically different repaint (like Mirage).

This Mirage is nice, but it hasn't really blown me away. Pretty colours still don't fix the alt mode. I expect the head is show accurate but for a mean Decepticon the other one would have been much better. The paint application is a much better example of how to do this than the Siege battle damage, but that comes with the price increase to twenty quid. Reminds me of the promise we got with the Movie Premier line but at least this time the extra couple of quid is worth it. I was hoping for a but more of the sheen evident on the other figures in the line, the paint here is quite flat.
This might well solve my mould dilemma though. Classics can stay with the main crew and so I've got an example of this mould, this one can be adopted by Toy Show 2017 Black Convoy and UW Baldigus. He'll fit there.

I'm repurposing mine as RiD Meanstreak- a decepticon who loves racing almost as much as he does winning. So mine is going with those exact toys you mentioned, too.

I'm calling it now: wave 2 will have another 'Spoiler' box set.
Actually it would be funny if every wave had a Spoiler box that was just another battle damage Ultra Magnus.

The existence of this Soundwave is bothering me..... It does rather harm the chances of them doing Soundwave from Doubledealer. And I want a Soundwave missile tank which can open his chest for tapes and has a mad bonus bird mode. OTOH if they're not using it for Soundwave maybe we could have Stalker to go with the rumoured Selects Rotorstorm from Spinister? (if someone can oblige with recolours from the Doubledealer images ..... www.amazon.com/Tra-Gen-Wfc-Leader-Doubledealer/dp/B07ZQY276Y)

Neither is Rotorstorm..... and he's coming. Or Doubledealer himself come to think of it...
Has anything that's been in Sunbow been done in Selects yet? Smokescreen?
