That's how I see it as well. And for Hasbro it gets more use out of the molds as well.

Yes. It isn't really aimed at 'us'.
The Mirage and Reflector repaints do look lovely. I could be tempted. But do I need 3 of the Reflector repaints?

Oh yeah, it's definitely just to sell more toys as a result of the series being out. It's just unfortunate that even after three attempts with Machinima they've not managed to get the series and toys out at the same time...
And Toph, I was thinking something along those lines also. I am braced to be fully underwhelmed by the actuality of it.

Aye. Most likely it's just the same battle damage deco that the rest of them have.
And if that's the case, I cannot see this going down well at all.

I think I'll wait for a £X off £Y at Smyths and maybe get Megatron and Hotlink then. Mirage and Reflector repaint Id buy if I see in person. Dont think I'll go tracking them down.

Do I need the Mirage?
Or the Refraktor repaint? I cooled rapidly on Refraktor after buying the original x 3 plus the boxset.

I strangely find myself more interested in W*NC than Earthrise! Think I'll spring for Scrapface, Hotlink and Decepticon Mirage. Possibly Chromia if I still can't source the Siege one.
Magnus...maybe if the deco is differwnt enough from Siege.

I never got Magnus or Cybertron Prime so part of me is screw lets buy it unseen.
Whats holding me back is that the Walmart decos while mostly better than the originals also include Sideswipe and Hound.
Also at £60 I'll be hoping for some additional figures like the Megatron and Hotlink sets.
If I end up paying £60 for a worse/more battle damaged version of a toy I could have gotten for £40 that doesnt come with extras Im gonna feel ripped off.

The "Build-a-Teletran" became so much less impressive to me when I realized it's just propping up the cardboard inserts that all figures come with together.
I'm genuinely worried this line is going to kill Earthrise overhere, when it hits. Walmart is the only place many americans have to go to get new toys from. (Targets are almost exclusively near malls. And the few that aren't, are only found in cities large enough to support a mall) Four of these have been clogging shelves badly for over a year, and one of the two truly unique figures is shortpacked. And he's a troopbuilder. And the other is a seeker that ships along with one of the notorious shelfwarmers.
So basically, I'm worried that the same exact figures from Siege wave 1, that are making the later waves so rare, are now going to do the exact same thing to Earthrise.

Also, I predict that if Hasbro genuinely plans on selling Ultra Magnus like that, that it'll sit there for a year before Walmart marks it down, or sends them back. And it'll probably be hard to find them sealed.
So... In the event that I do find them clearanced (tfs rarely get clearanced here. They just vanish), I'm happy to start collecting them for you guys.

She's the second worst shelfwarmer here. Second only to Hound, and only just barely.

I wonder if the inclusion of Battlefield Rung is a clue to the spoiler. Rung is a psychiatrist - maybe Magnus has some terrible experience on the battlefield in the first episode and is taken out with PTSD. That could be a genuinely interesting story if handled well, much more than killing him off Cliffjumper style or turning him evil.
Would fit quite well with some historical characterisations of him as well.
Prime takes over as Magnus can't deal with it right now (anymore).
