ID's updated release list now says May again for both Voyagers and Deluxes.

I am all in for W*NC. Everything pre-ordered other than Magnus (which isn't available anywhere). The new decos look nice* and I like the idea of picking up a full mini-line. I...I hope the show is good...
I just love the Siege moulds...

*Except for Hound, who looks exactly the same...but completist urge...

I enjoy the completist urge with mini lines too. That's what drove me with the Micromasters last year. These just don't feel different enough to the main line to me. I'll go for Megatron and Mirage though for sure. At the moment it looks like these might be the only new Transformers we get before July at the earliest. According to ID's list anyway. Earthrise w2 seems to have vanished bar the two biguns.

I found Megatron and Hotlink the other day. Megatron is far less impressive to me in person, than in photos. Those black marks on his chest look cartoonish. And almost like they were made with markers.
I know the "battle damage" decoes are supposed to be the central selling point for this sub-line, but the original releases also had "battle damage" decoes.
In the end, even for the appropriately colored Lionizer, I couldn't bring myself to buy it. Megatron is a bust, so I just can't justify a $40 battlemaster.

It may just be me, but the shiny just wasn't nearly as impressive to me in person, as it is in pictures. It didn't stand out nearly as strongly, while those black marks seriously detract.

Ok. Given I already have this figure I'm going to need to see this one (eventually) in Smyths before buying.

Ok. Given I already have this figure I'm going to need to see this one (eventually) in Smyths before buying. Likewise. I had been swithering on this since I don't yet have a WFC Megatron, but since I was doing my best to not pay full price for a Voyager and a couple of accessories anyway, this has just strengthened my resolve. This was good information.

Well this is interesting. I thought we heard Magnus was a Smyths exclusive so I just checked the website to see if any progress had been made, no, but I see some Smyths shops are now open for click and collect only, and Hotlink/Megatron are beginning to show up. One of the Smyths shops close to me actually has both of them!

Unfortunately I don't think you'll be able to do an immediate return if you collect it and decide the paint job's mince...

Yes; I think given the current situation I will not be making a mad dash to Fareham just now. I was just surprised that Smyths is actually open. Perhaps they now count as a garden centre.

If they have one next time I'm in school, I could go that way home and not break any rules about essential travel but at the moment Hotlink is the last thing I need to worry about. I'm sure these figures won't be too hard to get hold of in the next few months.

I was really underwhelmed by Siege Megatrons deco. So I see Neflix as an upgrade, but will still probably require a Smyths (or other) sale to knock £5-10 off the price. Probably should have just gottn the Wlmart cel shaded one, but I dont really like the cel shaded look as much as I did like the colours it used.
Hotlink I will probably just have to buy for completeness. Though I dont have Redwing sooooooooo.... hmm.
I dont have Ultra Magnus or (chap he comes with in case anyone is still caring for spoilers) so Netflix Magnus is more tempting than it should be.

Hotlink and Scrapface seem to have been the ones that have sold out online. Not surprised. I will probably feel compelled to have three Scrapfaces in due course to make the Evil Camera but I imagine there will be plenty in Smyths when mine re-opens.

Possibly some kind of loophole? To be fair to them, they aren't allowing anyone in the shops; you can just pick up click and collect orders from the entrance. If the shop is in a business park next to a supermarket you could probably just about argue it.

They may be getting away with opening by arguing that they sell outdoors equipment, paddling pools and the like. I'm quick happy with toys being delivered! Or in Asdaland when I am doing my normal shopping.
Some eateries are now doing click and collect.

I'll be a little miffed if that Impactor's the one with the Nick Roche head, that was previously only available in the three-pack. That said, I'm quite happy with the standard head, since it's more Marvel-esque.
Still, I'm fairly sure that a lot of these are going to shelf-warm to buggery, since we're just mostly repeating last year's toys now but with slightly different colours. Though I could yet be proved wrong.
But, Bumblebee, eh? Now to see if it's a Cliffjumper re-tool or a re-issuing of the Titans Return Legends toy... with a big gun or something.

Deluxe Elita 1 sounds a bit silly when we just had a pretty good Voyager. It would make more sense to reuse that. Does that tell us though we'll be getting a retail Elita-1 remould from Arcee?

Everyone on tfw seems convinced that the new names are new molds, where that just doesn't seem at all likely, to me.
Elita is likely a repaint of Chromia. They seem to think that design is the most perfect toy ever made and is suitable for every single femmebot ever imagined.
The Quintesson is probably a repaint of the cyberverse villains Quintesson.
Bumblebee could be anything from a TR reissue with something added, to Hasbro going back on their word to not retool ER Cliffjumper, to any number of deluxes. Including a Runamuck retool.
Wheeljack- why do something fun like retool Ironhide when they can put big black spots on the ER mold?
Deep Cover- everyone assumes it's an e-hobby inspired Sideswipe repaint. And it probably is, and I hope it is. But I'm not holding my breath. For all we know it could be a PotP Punch/Counterpunch repaint.
Barricade will be a disappointing dirtied reissue.

Hmmmm. This is surprising if true. I had assumed W*NC was just a small line for one chain to punt out repaints of Siege moulds to go with the Siege show what with that toy line being over by the time it launches. As otherwise it would be odd to have a Seige show when it is Earthrise that is out so more casual fans can get toys based on the cartoon they are watching.
Having a bigger line of repaints of what was out last year or on clearance strikes me as madness.
And new moulds?

I'll eat Ralph's socks if a Walmart line has exclusive moulds. I think these will all be generations mould reuses. The Cyberverse stuff doesn't fit the style. We've had confusion about the word Quintesson before, it's probably the Alicon.

We've had confusion about the word Quintesson before, it's probably the Alicon. Not if it was designed with an alternate G1 tooling from the get go. It's a whole mold that was used exclusively in a somewhat redundant threepack, that was an exclusive to one store chain. It really wouldn't surprise me at all if they find someway to reuse it. It could be an allicon, but it's a weird time to suddenly rename it (given the allicon will be in use under it's own name at the same time in Earthrise).

Post by Pinwig on May 14, 2020 13:24:55 GMT
I mean as in a mistake. We had a deluxe quint in early Earthrise listings until it became the allicon. I dunno. It just seems odd to branch this line into other ones when it's focused on the current generations aesthetic. Have Walmart done exclusives that aren't straight repaints in recent years? I can't remember who's done what now.

Would be a way to reuse the Allicon mold as well. Hard to imagine what else they could squeeze that out as.
