No base mode? Massive missed opportunity. Don't like the robot mode but spaceship mode is very nice and I do like Teletraan-1 a lot.
Hopefully I will be back in employment when this comes out.

I'd be pretty upset if I'd been crashed into a volcano, let me tell you...
And, yeah, I'm going to be That Guy, because of course I am, but... I'm not that impressed. First off, he doesn't have a base mode - not only should every Titan have a base mode, but also the Ark not featuring an Autobot HQ playset seems like a massively missed opportunity. Granted, a lot of the Titan base modes haven't really been particularly inspiring (looking at Fort Max and Scorponok in particular) but they could have at least tried. I'm just hoping that there's rooms for figures to sit in the Ark's cockpit.
Secondly, I don't know why, but it looks more like a Star Wars/Crossover Transformer than an actual Transformer. I think it might have something to do with the transformation, the fact that all of the transformation seems to happen on one plane or something, that might be it - I'd maybe have preferred to see the front of the Ark becoming the robot mode chest, in the same way that the hood of the Datsuns or Jazz becomes their chest - that sort of thing. But then again this is a massive robot, and you don't want too much of a complicated transformation else you'll lose parts of your fingers.
But on the other hand, it *is* the Ark. So of course I'll be getting it. It has flaws, but it's a fairly decent representation of the ship, and the robot mode looks like it'll be fairly sturdy in play, so it'll be worth getting. Now to just hope that in a year's time we don't get a Selects Marvel colours version...

I was going to type my fuller reaction to The Ark but I see that Llama has stolen the thoughts from my brain and said what I was going to say exactly!
The more I look at it...this isn't great and I'll only end up owning one at some point because it is the Ark though I find myself unfussed if it sells out before I am earning again.

Some figures improve a bit on release. Let's hope the Ark is one of them, It is a little uninspiring especially as the last of the current Titans line. (Redecos excluded)

The problem with the Ark is that it doesn't have an existing robot mode to use as a reference. Hasbro had to meet our expectations with past Titans as there was an established standard to meet. This one, they could just do the minimum for the robot because there is nothing to compare it to and no rules as to what it needs to look like.
As said earlier, it does remind me of a Star Wars Transformer too - the Millennium Falcon one to be exact. It has that sort of 'spaceship cut up into a robot' look.

I find myself very excited about Titan Black Zarak and hope I can afford one when it comes out. The Ark is...not exciting me. The robot is poop and spaceship should have had a base mode.

This and Unicron have made me realise I don't need big versions of things that can't be made big enough and that I'd love deluxe sized interpretations of them instead.
A line of deluxe sized Unicron, Ark, Revenge, Cybertron etc. models would be very nice. And easy to display.
