I can accept Primal next to Prime and Megatron next to Galvatron. But it's friggin' weird seeing Waspinator face off against Tracks, and Huffer along side Rattrap. It's like the great meeting between Captain Kirk and Captain Picard...and Harry Kim is there too.

Unlike weaponizers and modulators, I think Vertebreak can transform without partsforming. Which immediately increases my love for him ten fold. I had previously assumed that Paleotrex partsformed. But now I'm actually wondering about that.

Was Slammer ever confirmed to be the G1 metroplex tank, or was it just assumed to be repaint of Warpath? Because thinking about it, if there's no actual confirmation, the name easily fits a number of dinosaurs, such as a fossilizer Ankylosaurus or Pachycephalosaurus.

I both do, and don't like this packaging. It badly hides the toy. I think at this point, it may as well be a completely enclosed box with a great photo of the toy on the front (especially if that window is completely open. I HATE the "open package" trend. However, if it is an open window, I would prefer it to hide as much of the toy as possible).
That said, it works fairly well for the BW guys. It's a nice set of colors that will really pop out on the shelves, and complements them and their art. But god does it look stupid for Cyclonus. The combination of his awful lavender colors, combined with the theme reversal from the beasts having their alt mode front and center. It just does not work for him.
Edit: AH! I spotted a recycle symbol on front of one of the toys. They're completely enclosed!
So like... I know they're trying to reduce the plastic in packaging, but dude. They could at least show a little more of the toy.

Optimus's gorilla mode lacks a pot belly! That's why it looks so off, to me!

So far I'm going for Cyclonus (I love the Universe one, but sweet jeebus that new one is nice), Warpath (I wanted the older Gens deluxe, but it seems to be very scarce) and Primal and Beast Megatron as my token Beast Wars shelf rep, since the other guys don't interest me terribly much.
As for that poster, I shall finally break my 'no Titans' pledge, because an Ark that turns into The Last Autobot can't be ignored.

I spy Waspinator, Scorponok, and Dinobot in Blackarachnia's box art.

They could at least show a little more of the toy. So looking at Warpath, I've concluded that it's just Cyclonus that looks terrible with this packaging, and not G1 guys in general. His lavender clashing badly, the extreme focus on the robot while almost everyone else has the alt mode front and center. Because Warpath looks fine. Though I do suspect other G1 guys like sportscars like Tracks may face similar issues. I can't imagine a bright blue corvette not looking extremely weird in a prehistoric volcanic hellscape.

ID's preorders show the price increases - extra pound on deluxe/voyager and leaders £49.

Actually that said, on Star they're the same as usual. Pound extra on Megatron. But then ID have a tendency to cost more than everyone else.

I got all the beasts preordered. Skipped the G1 guys. The more I see it the worse Warpath looks, especially compared to the glory of the previous Generations version which I already have. Cyclonus I can leave or take. Not terribly impressed, but will probably grab it if I find it in hand. But I have two copies of the U2 version, and two copies of the CW/UW version which was really bad, and didn't really want those. The mini-prime doesn't look great, and i have no need for a second G1 optimus at this scale when I never figured out anything to do with the first one.

I'm not sure what to make of all this. Go all in? Not bother? Buy a few? I don't know. Optimus Primal and Megatron look amazing, but I think I'd rather just get the originals back out. The fossilbots are too Bayverse for me. Maybe I need Primal, Megatron and Cheetor to go with T30 Rattrap, Rhinox, Waspinator and LG Blackarachnia. That'll probably do me.
The G1s are essential, but it leaves me wondering what to do with CW Cyclonus. Definitely superceded, but do I keep him because he's a combiner core?

With the singular exception of Huffer, there hasn't been one confirmed or rumored G1 character who hasn't already been done in a significant way, at least once before.

It just hit me, that despite being arguable one of, if not the most popular TF in the fandom, that this is the first time Megatron has been touched in fifteen years. (Not counting the odd botcon repaint)
I mean, kinda woulda thought he'd have made it into "T30"

Really liking the majority of these - and the ones I’m not too fussed about aren’t bad by any means either.
Primal is superb. I didn’t think I’d be interested in him, given how perfect the original toy is. This one lacks the fun action features, it’s true, but the gorilla mold sculpt is great - very expressive. That for me is what makes this one a must-get.
Vertebreak I also love the look of, and would have been getting even just for the name, but she looks really interesting. And core Prime is cute, just because of the size - although something about him makes me think of Authentics...
The others are already known, but this is a good looking selection. The only real problem is that we’d seen so many of them already...

Some lovely looking figures in there. I am very pleased for all you Beast Wars fans!
Like others have said, the Beasties and the G1ies side by side is a bit jarring. And it seems Earthrise is over before it's started! Shame they couldn't do all the Earth in Earthrise, then the Beasts in Kingdom. They do seem to rush so. It's crazy. Makes me giddy.

My biggest disappointment is that we didn't see any Core class figures yesterday other than Prime (and Rattrap, of course, but that's different). I want to see who else they've downsized. Because tiny figures do always make me go "cor"...

I hope if that were the case then they'd have just cropped the image off before then. You wouldn't be losing anything else in terms of announced/unannounced toys and it wouldn't harm the composition.
