If they do undercrackers and skywap too I will not be able to resist.
You wait, this will be the one we get Sunstorm from.

I'm trying to keep out of these core class figures but that Starscream looks amazing for the size. The Prime's not bad, but I was going to pass on the Starscream since - from looks, at least - I still prefer the T30/CW Legends-scale mold. Megatron I'm dithering on, just because I'm not as keen on the look of this one...

There is that. I do still have all those little IDW styled chaps from that era and at least in that case we got the trio plus an Acid Storm. They may be enough to satisfy the need for some figures for the upcoming Ark. What would be impressive is if we got the Coneheads from this mould given the faff we're having with the Voyager size. *watches prices on Thrust continue to rise on eBay*

Y'know, I must have gotten that legends Thundercracker. I can't imagine passing up a TC unless it's just such an absolutely horrible toy like FoC.
...but I have zero recollection of this thing even existing, let alone owning it.

I didn't either until I checked my list. I was actually thinking, surely there was a TC & Skywarp from that but I don't remember owning them, but apparently I do. They were CW retail figures.

First wave Combiner Wars with Bombshell, Windcharger and Powerglide. I quite like the FoC jets at first, nice gimmick with the gun, but cooled on them and sold them on or, more likely, Fu'd them a few years later.

Erg. Suddenly feeling there should be some small tonal connection between the two, just a similar colour somewhere.

Yep - I remember them because it's the only time I've ever completed the oriignal See- strike jet trio in any line. And yes, they were at retail. Can you imagine that? All three figures in a group available at retail? I picked them up at Sainsbury's, too. Can you imagine that? Generations toys available in a supermarket? Crazy times...

That one actually broke me of my need to own every single Thundercracker toy. The only TF designs I hate more than the WfC/FoC seeker, are the FoC Dinobot designs. I tried multiple times to buy TC, but I couldn't make it to the register.

Ah yes. The Legends. In which someone decided a robot having boobs was more important than having a torso. (made from what can only be rationalized as male sex organs, because otherwise the spider has two scoops instead of fangs)

One of many reasons to be grateful for the new Kingdom Blackarachnia. True that there's still a lot of focus on being true to... her animation model, but she's now the more show-accurate representation of the character, and that previous embarassment can be shuffled away...

Tank looks a bit naff but that transformation is complex for the size, just like the other core figures have been. Compare that to the universe legends one, it's weird. Universe one has a better tank but this one has more articulation so it looks less stiff. Mind you both of them are better than the T30 one, even the Takara version of that with the better paint job.

I wonder long term where Core is going. Over the last few sublines we've had different uses for the $10ish bracket, but is Core purely to support the Ark Titan and will change again next year, or have Hasbro finally twigged that there is a market for decent miniature representations of the classic characters because the majority of 3P output these days seems to be at that scale.

It makes sense to go back to offering cheaper versions of the main characters: it's always good for a line to have a lower entry point for fans/parents/children to be able to access who are on a lower budget or are more casual fans who won't buy an Optimus Prime for £46 but will buy one at £13.

The last Legends line started smaller versions of characters and then mainly went minibots/insecticons

Which was annoying, because I was hoping to get the core G1 cast in a Legends-type scale to be displayed alongside the Titans - which at the time was Metroplex (or at least that's where they started with the T30 Legends). But then they changed their minds, so we just ended up with the same core cast characters as always at Legends scale alongside traditionally smaller minibots. I'd like to hope they have a more unified plan this time, but given how they pretty much forgot about Micromasters I'm not holding out too much hope...

No, you can guarantee it won't go anywhere. It's almost like they need to start a separate sub-line and go with it, but then I suppose that's been done before too.
