Even this photoshop looks better They've dropped the ball on the face on the Kingdom toy, much too dark for BW Grimlock and heading more towards the G1 colours |

It's certainly an odd choice. It's like they decided that they didn't need to be 100% accurate because they didn't think that anyone really cares about Beast Wars Grimlock. But then if they thought that why bother at all? (Aside from making money back from reusing the mold, that is. But I'm sure they could have come up with other options.) It would've made more sense, if anything, to just give it G1 Grimlock colours. So yeah, it's certainly a little strange.
Still tempted by it, mind you.

See above! I'm counting up the number of repaints of this that might be left. We haven't had Dinobot in his Toy colours with the toy head yet. Plus, From the BW Dlx Maximal poll tmukhub.proboards.com/post/455768Dinobot also has a Japanese varaiant, which is a little easier to spot than Cheetor's. His FK, BWX & Telemocha versions are all rather different and all fab! He has different character repaints as both Beast Wars and RiD Dinobots Grimlock and retools as BWII Cyberbeast Thrustor & BW Neo Hardhead who in turn is repainted in Beast Machines Dinobots as Dinotron (amusingly in the original Hardhead's colours!) |

I am not going after Red Alert, and the only reason I'm getting Sideswipe is because I'm being forced to.
And quite frankly this one torques me off more than Megatron's or Mirage's pointless retools do. Particularly as they release it after they've already done all but one of the lambo repaints (including G2 Sideswipe).

Dinobot and Megatron are complete opposites
Dinobot looks more complicated than he actually is. He's kinda intuitive.
Megatron is more complicated than he looks.

It depends on the robot deco you prefer. Siege Red Alert is much more G1 toy and really shines, ER Red Alert has muted colours and grey shins to be cartoon accurate. Side by side in robot mode the ER one suffers hugely. It just looks cheaper. So it would come down to whether you display in car or robot mode or whether you can cope with having a Siege mould stuck in with the ER ones. |

The yellow on the shoulders is pretty consistent with the original toy. If anything there needs to be a bit more elsewhere The head, otoh...... |

That could be it - it possibly needs some yellow elsewhere, maybe in the legs like the original. Seeing those photos I think I would prefer the brighter yellow of the original, unless it's just an artifact of lighting and photography!
