I wouldn't bother, however 6pm Sat for a bit of Blue action is good for me. I'll probably have to depart about half eight sadly, so an earlier start is good.

Right. I think I have got the Zoom thing on the laptop. How do we get into the meeting? Does Phil send a link? It says there is a 40 minute limit: do we log off after 40 mins then log back in? Not used Zoom before.
Anything is better than Skype though. The video messaging service that rarely displays video.

I've never used Zoom, Skype's been fine for me, but I'm doing two virtual meets with it tomorrow. It seems you need a paid licence for long calls, which must be the 40 minute limit you've seen. So I guess the administrator (Phil's running it is he?) will have to restart the call when it ends then we'll have to rejoin.
I've been given a meeting ID and a password for the other meet I'm doing, which I'm told will get me into the meeting lobby. They're using a password as apparently Zoom is prone to meeting bombing - people who randomly join meetings to wreck them. Not sure how valid a concern that is. However it also seems that the admin can set things so they have to manually add people from the lobby, so I guess that would help with security if we all connect to the lobby and Phil adds us.

I've been using Zoom to rehearse the last couple of Mondays, but will try and find/borrow a webcam as my existing laptop camera comes out hazy and makes it hard to see me. Better for you lot if I can't find a new one I guess.

If Phil has a full account and hosts their is no time limit. Zoom have also been pretty good lately and not been enforcing the 40 min limit so much. I was on a call last night for over two hours for example.

Depends what you're using to access it. If you're on a laptop, go to the zoom website and as you go through the process of joining a meeting (for which Phil will give us the code) it'll get you to install a browser extension to manage the video window. If you're on a phone or tablet, download the zoom app and go from there.
