Seven inches in robot mode.

The Machine Wars vibe on this makes it a tempting purchase.

Seven inches is quite an odd height in the current range. It's a head taller than a normal voyager.

At that size and price point the design is nice... but a little basic?

There is nothing about this that compels me to buy it. It's a posable Leader-1 figure. You like Gobots*. Therefore you like this and must preorder one. Possibly two for good measure! * Possibly

My complete disdain for Tom Cruise overrides my like of Gobots, G2, and Machine Wars.
I will wait to see if this is getting a mainline retooled release as something else so I can have it without Tom Cruise.

I like it due to the Cyberjet/Machine Wars vibe but at £50? Er. Um. Hmmm. Looks like a decent £25 toy. For once I find myself agreeing with the Doctor. I do like the look of it for those exact same reasons, but it is not a fifty pound toy. I’ll be waiting to see if it’s either reduced or repurposed with better colours I think.

Looking up on google, it's his bike from the movie

While I've technically seen the movie, I couldn't tell you a damn thing about it. So I have no clue what his bike looks like, and I couldn't find a picture I could be sure was genuine that wasn't head on. But I think this is an accurate reproduction: And the toy:

I think it looks really skinny and dull. His face should look like Tom Cruise, that'd been funny.
And I get a Leader-1 vibe from him.
(yeah, look at me with the ancient transforming toy knowledge!)

I've personally flown over 194 missions and I was shot down on every one. Come to think of it, I've never landed a plane in my life...

"Gentlemen, we've waited a long time to hear this. In exactly five hours and 17 minutes, we hit the enemy toast." "I think that's the enemy coast, sir." "Huh? Coast? That'll take a little more planning. But it doesn't matter."

Pete 'Dead Meat' Thompson is dead. So is Mo Green, Tataglia, Barzini, the heads of all the five families. It is at moments like these, my dear friends, that we must ask ourselves: "How can this not be part of some larger plan?" Do good men like Dead Meat Thompson just blink out one day like a bad bulb? I mean, one minute you're in bed with a knockout gal... or guy, and the next, you're a compost heap. Doesn't that bother any of you? Because it scares the living piss outta me!

I know they're what they're supposed to be, but the colours aren't helping me with that. A better colour scheme and I'd be interested.

It just looks like it's made from really cheap plastic. Maybe it's better in hand, but since we don't get to see things in hand before buying them any more, that doesn't really help...

Notice that bastard Thrust has buggered off again.
That's quite a large jet mode. A better deco and a decent head and I could have been tempted.

Right well it turns out half price was what tempted me. I'm going to break ranks here and stop laughing at this figure. I really like it. There's no way this is a fifty quid toy, it's a solid Voyager made slightly taller because of the long legs. £25 is right.
In hand, the legs don't feel quite so disproportionate to me. There are nice touches too like the all important ankle rockers as well as ratchet joints in the hips. The only disappointments are the well documented ones: this figure is all about the jet mode, so that's where the paint apps are, and the robot is almost all the underside of the jet so it looks very plain. Toyhax could do wonders with it. The jet though has no discernable robot parts on the underside. It's very clean but looks waxy compared to something like ER Starscream because of the pearly finish plastic.
The negatives don't outweigh the positives though, provided you don't go over £25. The transformation is fine and you've got two shotguns and two missiles as well as the extra hands, basketball and Tom Cruise on his bike. It's nice. I'm surprised.

Weird figure this. Because the plastic is largely the translucent type, if you stick it on the windowsill with the sun behind it*, it sort of glows.
*disclaimer - this was done for seconds only. Do NOT put toys on windowsills children, it does not do them any good.

If it dropped another fiver, then, I'd break, I think. It's looks almost Macross like, but not enough for me to drop big pennies.
