Hi everyone, thank you for letting me join your community. I have joined as I am looking to find out as much information about these comics as I can and if there are any rare numbers to look for amongst this collection. I have issue number 113 which I know is desirable, but I would love to know what other gems to look out for. Any information would be massively appreciated. Thanks very much for your time. A picture is of the stack I have and my 113 of which the condition is really really good I think and the other comics conditions vary but they are all mostly in very good condition. Thanks again, kind regards, John.

Hello! Regarding rarity, the later issues had the fewest copies printed, so they would be the rarest in that sense, but in general I'd say the most impressive things you could own in this run would be issues with free gifts still attached and in mint condition - e.g. posters never taken out of staples, stickers never removed, etc. It's also more impressive if you have copies with nothing written on the front by newsagents. But me, I gave away all my original TF comics many years ago in favour of trade reprints, which are less valuable but suit me better. I've been reacquiring some of the hardback annuals, though. The later ones of those are also rarer / more valuable because far fewer copies were printed. I paid £100 for a mint condition copy of the last annual: tfwiki.net/wiki/Transformers_Annual_1992Martin

Did you reveal that amount at the time, Martin? That's mad. I'd no idea you'd paid that much.

Hey, it was lockdown, my usual ways of spending money were curtailed, and I had a lot of time to be tempted by Ebay. And remember, I don't buy TF toys! If anyone has the 1992 annual in mint condition and wants £100, put it on Ebay and it will soon go. Martin

God I got a near mint copy at TFN two years ago. I'm sure it was £25 but I didn't note the price because it was a book and isn't on my TF acquisitions spreadsheet. The Spacebridge had a pile of them.

There isn't a single copy of it on Ebay at the moment.
The one before it costs quite a lot to get in good nick too. But the 1992 one is more special, as it contains the original conclusion of the original TF saga, never officially reprinted anywhere.
Plus the Carnivac saga and Combat Colin in colour.

Blimey. I knew it was rare, but £100 rare?! I should have bought more.

I can take solace in the fact that going to TFN just to get a copy would probably have set me back a lot more than £100 in total outgoings. Martin

Yes, yes it would. The compulsory fish finger sandwich alone would have done that.

Last year while tidying I found a sealed Jiffy bag containing an absolutely pristine copy that I didn't remember owning at all. I even still had a saved eBay search!
I paid a tenner for it in 2010 from a random second hand bookshop on eBay (it was about the time my daughter was born, so not surprised I got distracted).
