Don't be too hasty! I panicked when the Amazon order was US-only and got a pre-order in with Dutch seller TF Robots. Not cheap at €69.99 + postage.
Unless you're in a hurry, better to wait for Amazon I'd have thought.

Ah, no, it's ok. I have a set in the air at the moment on the way from Robot Kingdom, but put in a backup order with Amazon when they opened it up worldwide in case RK stopped shipping again. Soon as the RK one is safely here I'll cancel the Amazon one, but I'd do it straight away if I knew they were shipping early.

Just waiting in the cuta now and the annoyance of working out how much more the RK order will cost over the Amazon one. But then when that all happened we had no indication Amazon would change the listing to ship outside the US. Horrible year for obtaining exclusives.

I hadn't noticed in the recent-ish in-hand photos that lots of the dark grey had been exchanged for white, until I got him out of the box just now.
He's very white!
I do prefer it though, to those initial promo photos.

Side by side with the Siege one there is much less red going on, however I think I prefer the more muted shades on the Earthrise figure. He's less glaringly white.

If that was just the bases I wouldn't bother, but the Micromasters make it a different proposition. The blurb says the bases are coloured to match Sky Lynx so presumably once they've found him they're designed to expand his base mode.

So Moonrock and Missile Master - but the other two Astro Squad members aren't another shuttle. I wondered how those were going to get reused. What's the booster the shuttle is on? It's not in any other photos.

I need the chums to explain to me why I shouldn't buy 5 this time. Because I'm having trouble not ordering that many.....
One, boom, done.
But I think I need more.
Gorgeous. Overair is a bit too close in colours to Airwave. Ditto the shuttle. And more greyish road, albeit now more metallic than grey. Why's Ironworks name not changed?

They couldn't give Ironworks a new name and make a new character? There are like... A dozen space themed names they could reuse.
I'd say it's part of the "major character meets local" bit, but they threw that concept away immediately after Ratchet/Lifeline. And I wouldn't exactly call Ironworks a major character.
Also, so they made two modulators, and that's it. They get used until the end of the molds, for every base ever.
I hope the fossilizers get better treatment.
Also, complaining aside, I genuinely love the set.

Ironworks looks a little like a Rescue Force guy. Very good point! That now makes this set less disappointing for not actually being Generations versions of Rescue Bots characters. But only slightly less. |

If I hadn't just bought an Ironworks I'd be tempted by this set to get an Aquafresh version mainly for the red Micro rocket truck.

Botropolis feels like a weird name reuse in the circumstances, but I do like the look of this set!
I have a soft-spot for themed alternative versions of characters, so space-mode Ironworks is fine by me.
I hope they've properly matched the colours with Sky Lynx though - I would be annoyed if they turn out to be very similar but slightly off...

This oddysey stuff has really not lived up to the potential of the concept.
I mean, plenty of nice toys, but they don't feel like they'd be bound to this concept over just being selects or something.

I feel like the best use of this concept, if it wasn't going to be mini botcon sets, would have been "G1 character meets non-G1 character"
Like "Hotrod goes to Biosfera and meets Cheetor," "Blurr goes to Velocitron and meets Override," or "Micromasters go to Micron and meet Minicons"

Even just having a cardback with a diarama picture showing the alien worlds or asteroid for the characters to pose in front of would have been nice.
The toys look good. Just not sure about the unifying concept.
