He'd need all the yellow parts recast in blue with the chest painted yellow to be accurate. Given that the yellow on the car parts is paint, I don't think it's too much of a stretch to think that was the plan. Half the crotch is already blue. So likely it'd be cheaper to leave the yellow plastic yellow, and paint the stomach area blue.

This is actually a theory I buy into, and I suspect that it was indeed the idea until it turned out that they actually had no money for any retooling. And actually, given that the mold has had no re-use, and that it wasn't a mass-market release in the first place, maybe they needed to have a straight, simple recolour just to get some of the cost back.

This theory...makes sense.

Amazon have charged for the Micromaster 6-pack - £33 all in, which for six Micromasters isn't bad thanks to the current exchange rate.
Which including ID's postage for an under £50 order is about £17 cheaper than they were. Big help from the exchange rate at the moment. A pound is $1.40 today, been climbing steadily since September.

I wonder how much longer before someone makes a Nightbeat conversion set

Wish I'd done that instead of going with ID. Ah well, it's a really nice set anyway IMO.

Is it still The Wrong Trousers when it was part of the original play pattern?

I'm gonna call "yes," because the swappableness of the combiners was part of their play pattern, too

But if they're meant to be swappable does that not therefore mean that all trousers are correct?

It's only part of the original play pattern if the shuttles can combine with the trucks.

Got the last two sets today. I like the botropolis set far far more than either versions of either modulators. I guess that's what NASA themed toys will do for me.
Micromasters are more micromasters, and I don't have a lot to say about that.
But is says a lot about my migraines that I'm far more excited about finally getting my blackout sleeping mask than I am for the NASA themed transformers that came in the same box. (I get bad photosensitivety)

Botropolis set has shipped from Amazon, apparently due in time for the weekend. £62 shipped in the end, which is somewhat cheaper than ID's £80 and about in line with retail for the figures. Two Deluxes, two MM packs and a big missile... £17x2 and £13x2, meaning a couple of quid for the missile? That feels a *bit* better in terms of trying to justify it.
