Yay, Matt Berry! Not sure if this is ep1 or 2 but in a flashback scene... {Spoiler}Would have been nice if after cleaning house in the bar Fett said 'sorry about the mess.' Ep 3... {Spoiler}Is this the first time a BT-16 has been seen on screen? It's quite a thing to see.
Yay, Danny treyo!
Fett stating he's ridden beasts three times the size of a Rancor... Referring to the holiday special cartoon segment?
That speeder chase was pretty poor.

It was alright.
Didn't really need to exist but enjoyable enough for what it was.

I was left a little disappointed. I enjoyed the build up, but felt too much like there was no payoff to the potential of power plays between factions. No one outplayed the other in an ongoing tactical battle for control of the spice route, it was just let's have a big fight.
So in the end it was just a set up for S3 of The Mandolorian and excuse for some fan service and spots.

Two episodes in and really enjoying it. Feels like Mando season 2.5.

Episode 3. Great fun. It has the same sort of wry humour that the best SW stuff does.
I never knew I would become emotionally attached to Tusken Raiders.

I loved it. Great series. I guess it just got a luke warm reception because it isn't the Mandolorian.

I loved it. Great series. I guess it just got a luke warm reception because it isn't the Mandolorian. I mostly think the location hurt it. I dont know how big that set was but it felt like they had Main Street and one other smaller street that had to be repurposed multiple times. And when they werent on that set or the palace, they were surrounded by sand. It made the show feel smaller and cheaper than I'm sure it really was.

I suspect Covid restricted its ambitions a bit. It did feel disjointed, especially the way the plot jumps about all over the place (being less SW oriented, Mrs P was totally confused by why one minute he's with the sand people and the next in the town) and the later episodes even more so.
I suppose in a way it fits with Mandalorian like a comic crossover story where you get different titles coming together to tell a complete story, but within the individual titles the story sticks to the characters in that book.

Strangely, I feel that the Obi-Wan show looks loads more cheap. Episode 2 did my head in as all the characters were clearly just moving around the same big studio set with different backdrops.

Just finished! (after several years, I figured out why D+ app wouldn't ever work. It's still broken but I now know how to work it)
This has made my realize something. The further away Star Wars gets from magic samurai space wizard bullshit, the more I actually enjoy it. This had the least amount of Jedi nonsense, and is also the series I enjoyed the most! Rebels and Mando are much better written, but this one was just more fun.
So yeah. Book of Boba Fett made me realize the reason I (usually) dislike Star Wars, is because I absolutely hate Jedi/Sith stuff.

Whilst I wasn't overly fussed about Book of Boba Fett - I felt it had an engaging cast marooned in a story that never really quite got any momentum (not helped by having two episodes of irrelevant digression that should have been in a completely different show) I have to echo the feeling that that Jedi and stuff related to them are the things that I find least engaging in Star Wars. That is part of the reason I really wanted BoBF to come together better than it did. The idea of Fett, the ageing gunslinger looking for a new path in life, and wanting to somehow do something positive in his remaining time was an interesting one. A shame that it never really quite managed to deliver on that.

Loved the Fett show and s1-2 of Mando. The wheels fell off somewhat in s3, though it had its moments. Obi-Wan was pish. Andor...I tried.
Curious how Ashoka will go.

Obi-wan was fine, Andor was amazing by the end but took almost too long to get there. Fett was a struggle to get through, saved only by the Mandalorian episodes within it.

Funnily enough, the Mandaloran continuation is the only reason I bothered to watch Book, so I wouldn't be lost when I started S3. But the Mando focused episodes turned out to be my least favorite, and killed the narrative momentum Book had. I mean, they could have easily been collapsed into one episode and put into Mando S3, while some of that filler content get shaved off.
So came for Mando, but ended up kinda resentful of it.

I wouldn't.
Mandolorian 1 & 2 is much better than Boba Fett. Fett's return is in the Mandolorian and you won't understand wtf is going on when the Mandolorian characters show up in Book of Boba Fett.
Watch Mandolorian 1 & 2 first. This is The Way

Not quite as wise as Martin, though, so I'm interested in what he thinks. CJ's got his finger on the pulse n'all.

Gentlemen, can one watch Book of Fett without having watched The Mandalorian? I mean...theoretically, yes...in that there is nothing physically preventing one from pressing play on the first episode and letting it run in front of your eye balls. Is it recommended...honestly, probably not. Considering that several episodes of it are actually disguised episodes of The Mandalorian and connected to that shows ongoing plots rather than to Book of Boba Fett it is going to end up feeling pretty disjointed if you do. I mean, more so than Book of Boba Fett did anyway. First Season of The Mandalorian is quite good though. Worth a watch in its own right as a sort of Space-Western-Chanbara-Lonewolfandcubknockoff sort of thing. Karl
