Doh. Just did a pulse order and it's a fiver cheaper from those two!
Edit: Switched to Star.
Does no one else think this is unexpectedly cheap? I know there isn't a lot of remoulding in these, but then there isn't in a lot of mainline releases. Three Deluxes and a Voyager would be over a hundred quid these days.

I like the look of the Troop Builder set but it's too pricey to really build an army. Maybe it'll turn up cheap in Game in a few months.

I have to say that I like these. I think it is the fact that these no-name generics are the closest things that we tend to get to new characters these days. The G2 Generic is great, and I do like the Crosshairs remould - that is a nice little toy and I'll admit I am I'm kinda tempted.

Oh, are they doing the background seekers from the cartoon?

Ah ha! That's it, that's what it needed to be. Right. I'm in for one of these sets at full price but if they turn up in Game half price in a year, I'm in for a few more.

Do people think it will be easy to offload the characters you don't want from this set?

It's an interesting set because it's trying to appeal to four different audiences, so you'd think there'd be a market for all of them individually, but I imagine the second hand market will be flooded with them when the set comes out.
I can't guess if any if these are more desirable than others. They're all pretty niche in their own areas. I think if anyone wanted to army build Alicons they already would have done

So alternatively I could easily pick up a couple decently priced Cybertronians on eBay..?

It's hard to tell.
I think this is one of those sets it might be best to grab when it's new (personal budgets permitting).

Seekers are always desired, and this is the generic troopbuiling seeker that seeker collectors have been begging for since classics. It will be super easy to offload. It will likely pay for the set by itself.

I've put a pre-order in myself, but I'm still very on the fence about this set. At least I've got time to think about it and cancel for a month or so.

I'm just impressed to see something based on the original RID line. The powers-that-be seemed to have forgotten the range existed.

Perhaps along with the rumoured Sideburn, it is getting some overdue recognition.
