Please can anyone tell me if there are any noticeable differences between the Titan hardcover (hardback) and softcover (paperback) books that cover the Marvel US series?
I own some of the softcover books and they seem to have nice quality paper, and unusually for a softcover, sewn bindings.
Is this also the case with the hardcovers?
Do the hardcovers open wider / more fully?
Are there any differences in reproduction?
Many thanks!

Hello and welcome.,
Sorry my Titan HC's are in storage just now, but the interior paper stock is the same for both softcover and hardcover. No difference in terns of interior content and reproduction is the same as my G2 HC and SC both have the same issue with the plates being in the wrong order on the splash for Issue 6.

Some copies of the softcovers had creased pages. Not folded, but as if the page had a knife run down it, and this affected several pages in the blighted volumes. This was true of a few different volumes, obtained from different sources. But if you got unaffected copies, then the contents and page quality should be the same as for the hardcovers.
In the end, I went for a complete set of hardcovers because (a) I prefer hardcovers, and (b) I preferred the cover art.
One mildly annoying thing about the softcovers is that although the front covers are all supposed to connect together to make a continuous frieze, the books are not identical sizes and the cover images don't match up perfectly.
Edit: Plus, who is really going to store 14 or 16 books side by side, face forward?

But either way, the Titans are by far the best quality reprints of the US comics out there, and everyone should own a set, whether hardcover or softcover.
IDW messed up the quality, and Hachette used the IDW copies. Stick to Titan for Marvel US!
