Somehow this slipped under my radar. Episode 1 very different in feel to the rest of The CW Arrowverse shows. If it wasn't the same actors playing Lois and Clark as from Supergirl, I wouldn't even think it was related. Very serious in tone, visuals/audio, plot points in first episode instant downer, darker shot. Possible this is just to set up the main series plot arc so will likely not be quite so bleak moving on... maybe. {Spoiler}Right, so the ending has Doom Guy revealed to be Captain Luthor, but can't be Lex as it's not Jon Cryer. Curious.

Yeah. While I didn't dislike it, it felt way too much like Snyder's bleak MoS that yells "this is inspirational and hopeful!" instead of actually being that. Far too little of Tyler Hoechlin's nearly dead on portrayal of Clark/Superman made it through. I'm guessing Captain Luthor is from the future. But I'm also not sure this is on Earth Prime. Lois and Clark have twins, which I don't think happened in either the comics, or Arrowverse. Also no mention of Kara being available to help take some of the burden off Superman. And I'd have thought Melissa at least have a walk on cameo at the funeral. I can't see Kara not showing support to Clark when his mom died.

It's now set up for the 'good' kid to rebel... Becomes jealous of his brother who now has a relationship with their Dad, loses his place on the team/life as they move to Smallville yada yada teen angst stuff.

I get it! Captain Luthor is a survivor of the Crisis! (Batwoman season one spoiler) Just like the second Beth Kane! He keeps talking about how Superman destroyed his world. I was stuck on alien world! But he probably means parallel world!

Bit confused showing weekly on BBC1 but the whole series seems to be available online/SkyQ. Watched episode 2 and it autoplayed 3 and then started on to 4.

Season 2 starts in a couple weeks. Not sure I'm going to bother.
This was the first Arrowverse series that I almost dropped. It never got any less boring to me. It felt like a chore making it to the end.
Which hurts, because I absolutely love Tyler and Bitsy as Clark and Lois. They're perfect casting.

BBC did it with The Outlaws too. Very odd.

They do it with a fair few series now, although I thought Outlaws only released as they were aired as I was going to watch it but saw it wasn't complete on iPlayer. I think they're just trying to appeal to different audiences.

Oh yeah, Outlaws they released the next week's episode on iPlayer. I guess it creates more of a water cooler anti spoiler urgency to watch with these approaches.

Just finished series one (on iPlayer).
Absolutely superb.
I initially felt there was too much 'teen' stuff going on. But I quickly realised that that's the point; Superman has never seemed so real.
The cast are excellent.

That's where I am with it. Enjoyed Season one, season two to follow when time permits.

So finally watched S01 and S02. As much as I love the setting and casting, in both seasons they kinda miss the point. Superman is at its best when it's a collaboration by Superman and Lois to investigate a plot of some kind. Not just Superman Vs yet another person with powers. And it then starts falling into the trap that The Flash series did of making more and more of the supporting characters able to back Superman up when he's down. When everyone is special, no one is. I did enjoy the start of S02, especially the little misdirect by the writers and the eventual reveal/early season enemy, but they soon after dropped the ball... Reverting yet again to it's another universe, mirror as opposed to strict multiverse, but please writers stop with this lazyness.
And what is the assumption that once everyone is merged with their mirror self they become bad? Would Jonathan X nahtanoJ really have been evil? A few episodes into S03, hopefully on a better path. Will go back to Lois&Clark after this, see how it holds up.

Despite the above post I think we got four episodes into season two then, well. No further. I don't think it's bad, it's just there were more interesting things to watch.
I'm frightened to watch Lois and Clark now incase it's crap. Back then in the 90s I thought it was amazing.

Sorry, chum. It was always crap, even back in the day. -Ralph Absolute pish. Season 1 is grand, John O'Shea is a fantastic Luthor, and cool Jimmy Olsen is ace. Later seasons, less so.

I only watched it for Lois, but it was part of the lost decade of BBC1 showing absolute crap on Saturday evenings instead of Doctor Who!

I don't get who Superman and Lois is aimed at. It's too serious/dark for family entertainment, too much teen drama for people who want a serious show. Hnnngh. And Steel's suit being a rip of of MCU Iron Man except with a female voice irks me no end. I didn't like in helmet shots of character faces then, and I don't like it now. Really shows how good Pedro Pascal is when he could emote so strongly in Mandolorian with just voice and mannerisms. The only thing Lois and Clark suffered from was Dean Cain not being able to act in a way that expressed his feelings for Lois without seeming constipated.

Sorry, chum. It was always crap, even back in the day. -Ralph No way! It was top US 45 minute genre TV. Obviously it had to contend with being made in the 90s, but it was a fun show. It was only really the fourth series where it ran out of steam.

Coming to the end of Season 3. It's a good series this one, but definitely not light entertainment. The real life issues that are covered are more for that 9pm doom and gloom drama slot and not to be taken lightly. Change in casting and some characterisation (Kyle, Sarah) a bit off. Change in writers perhaps? But... Lex Luthor set up for S04 villain, and are they really setting up World Without a Superman? We have Superboy, Steel and Eradicator ready to go. Heck, even Hank Henshaw in Supergirl, although I'm not sure bringing him over would work, you'd need Hoechlin to play Cyborg Supes really.

As far as I'm aware, there is no season four. S3 only happened because it was too far along in production when CW killed all DC content.
