Sunbow's series in the early-mid 80s and a follow up by DIC in 1989, into the 90s. How have I never known this??

Come to think of it, I've known for years that David Kaye's first voice role was GI Joe, a fact that now makes more sense.

It's not good, really. Operation Dragonfire is OK in terms of animation and the story does what it needs to do (tie up loose ends from the movie and restore the status quo), but the dialogue sounds like it was recorded in a tin shack.
Then we get to the series proper, and oh boy, does it ever nosedive.
