I've just finished reading The Gamesmaster, Flint Dille's memoirs of working in the 1980s. Well worth a read for a behind-the-scenes look at Sunbow, TSR under Gary Gygax and a general insight of the pop culture industry in 1980s LA.
Thanks. I've added the book to my future purchase list.
Flint Dille is interviewed on the Retro Hour podcast this week. The interview itself is great, though his Transformers work is only briefly mentioned. The key points are: (1) he was initially reluctant to work on Transformers, and (2) he had been told Gobots were outselling Transformers at one point and the movie was intended to boost toy sales. So, nothing particularly new. I found his description of working on Nighttrap (an early FMV game for Mega CD) and the ET ride much more interesting.
