I can see it now but I forgot we are actually on 6 releases of this mould.
Galvatron I: Kingdom.
Galvatron II: Kingdom running change with fixed shoulders*.
Galvatron III: Legacy 'clean deco'.
Galvatron IV: Selects 'toy colours'.
Galvatron V: Partially clear 'behold Galvatron!'.
Galvatron VI: Studio Series 86 slightly different colour.
And then...
Galvatron VII: Dramatic Capture (conjecture).
But how would they do Galvatron VIII?

The purple on this one looks like the purple on the toy colours version. The flatter colours on the face and canon do make it look like it would go well with SS Magnus. I could go for this if it comes down to twenty quid in Game. I only have the toy colours release.

This mould is becoming the new Siege Megatron!
Soon, all new Tranformers will be just these two moulds. Over and over! INTO INFINITY.

Phil is very happy with his Legacy clean Kingdom Galvatron and doesn't believe he needs SS86 Galvatron at all
If he was blue like the renders..... maybe. But he's purple. Again.

You say that but I know completist urge will strike you!
It wasn't blue in the renders. We saw poor quality pictures off a screen at an angle. We didn't have an accurate picture of what they are.

I'm rather anxious to see side by side in hand comparisons with kingdom or legacy. Because aside from the solid laser cannon and painted matrix, I struggle to see what's different.

Okay the SS86 colours look fantastic, though I think its more that the blue has a slight metallic quality to it than the blue actually looking better than the purple.
then I see the robot mode and am instantly reminded that Galvatron is a weirdly shaped robot that despite perfectly capturing every element of Galvatron is, somehow, not Galvatron shaped.
