I think it'll be similar to what they've done with the Beast Wars characters - more "realistic" alt-modes, and then as-close-to-cartoon-accuracy-as-possible robot parts in robot mode. So it'll probably end up being more towards the current Generations style.

Depends. If they are looking for a way out of the current cycle of redoing G1. Then Prime might be their best escape hatch.
Stylistically very different from basically everything, (but vaguely movieish as long as the next film doesnt mess with things too much). Lots of recognisable names, a young adult fanbase and a cartoon series that Hasbro fully own (I think) and is still fairly modern for todays kids to watch.
Or maybe they just want to pad out the current generations line with new G1 characters, though that wouldnt explain Arcee and Soundwave.

Pleased to see Bulkhead with a realistic Earth mode. I wonder who the inevitable repaint will be? Skids looks great!

Well that's another chunk of Pulsecon reveals blown. Skids looks ok but doesn't excite me. Bulkhead is the very definition of tragic. That is clearly a mould meant for someone else with a Bulkhead er, head stuck on it.

Oh it definitely has plans for someone else, but its actually a pretty good stab at a G1ified Bulkhead.
It would make the most boring repaint/remould ever but its basically perfect for AOE Hound in G1 form.
Can see them doing something not quite right like Pyro down the line.

Does this line replace the War for Cybertron or those G1 redo's (Movie 86 etc) studio series?

"War for cybertron" will be as dead when "legacy" starts, as "Prime Wars" was when "WFC" began.
However they will continue with G1 updates.
...they will never stop doing G1 updates.
And Studio Series is a seperate line, and 86 continues next year.

Skids looks alright. I’ll say I’m going to pass on Bulkhead but we all know I won’t..

Bulkhead looks like they decided to mix Prime and Animated Bulkhead into one, and ran it through a Classics filter.
Too heavy on TFP. I hated his design there.
It also looks like it heavily borrows U2 Inferno's engineering.
Love Skids, but like Doc, i don't find it terribly exciting.

Can't wait for Skids. Having got all the other 85 cars together on my desk because I opened Tracks the other day, that set are going to look great completed. Possibly more so even than the 84 crew. I think I've come to realise the 85 cars colour schemes have much more colour. There's an awful lot of white and red in the 84 crew when they're all together, 85 has more variety.
Gosh we're close with the Diaclone car updates now. Earthrise or Kingdom versions of everyone except Siege Hound, Studio 86 Jazz and Legacy Skids. That's pretty much a complete set in the same aesthetic. Amazing!

I can see what they're getting at but the cab looks too Optimus Prime or Infeno/Grapple. It kind of needed a twist. If anything the overall look is more Animated than TF Prime.

What do we think of the Energon Weapons?
Does this shed some light on the rumoured Energon Monsters? Weaponiers made up from Energon Weapons?

What are the energon things supposed to be? Weapons made out of Energon?
I think Bulkhead works as a character within the aesthetics of the lines he comes from, those look great, but the Generations style doesn't suit him. It seems silly to me to update a character with a version inferior to the older ones.

What are the energon things supposed to be? Weapons made out of Energon? Weapons made from energon was the central theme for Transformers Energon It's a terrible Bulkhead. Vehicle based on TFA, every other robot element based on TFP, through a Classics filter doesn't work. Oddly enough, I like it as a G1ed Bayverse Hound.

I love that Skids! He looks kind of physically awkward in a way I find endearing, in both modes. I see him as a bit of an outsider because of the comics, so that works for me.
Bulkhead seems to be designed to please nobody. Vehicle mode is almost sort of like a contemporary Earth version of the TFA vehicle, robot mode pretty much only shares a head design with any other version. Give him a different head and he could be anyone, noone would have guessed Bulkhead. I like the idea of redoing stylised character designs in a Generations aesthetic but this feels like a miss?

It's a terrible Bulkhead. Vehicle based on TFA, every other robot element based on TFP, through a Classics filter doesn't work. It's almost like "We've been forced to do Prime in Generations so we'll balls it up so badly that it doesn't sell and we don't have to do anymore after this year!" It's an odd one. Selects Cybertron Defence Hotshot doesn't look like Cybertron Defence Hotshot but, somehow, it works. This doesn't.

I'd say you may be right, if it weren't for the recent reissues, combined with TFP having a strong showing in RED.
I think Hotshot worked, even though it looks nothing like him, because we're used to Hotshot getting a complete redesign every two years. Four unique designs in five years. So while it's intended to be an update of CD Hotshot, which it fails hard, it spiritually feels like Hotshot's new form following Cybertron.
And unfortunately Bulkhead doesn't have that. I think it's fair to compare him with HftD Lugnut and Lockdown.

I’m in for skids. Though his very recent MP (?) toy is automatically compared in my mind and I think that’s what’s making it look slightly strange.

Mixed feelings about these. Skids looks okay, but also screams "rising production costs" - just look at those legs...
As for Bulkhead... I'm really not sure whether I like it or not. I really like the *idea* of G1-ifying non-G1 designs so that they fit in with the rest of the Generations line, I just don't know if I like the execution of this one. Whatever the case, it is at least interesting, so there's still that. And to me it looks more like a G1-ification of his Animated incarnation than his Prime one, simply based on the alt-mode. I may well end up getting it, just so that I can have a line-up of the Prime/Animated characters in G1 styling. Or I may not. Who knows? Who cares? Not I!

Looks like there's been a definite step back towards 'make it simpler' with these guys. Which might be to do with any additional cost going towards working in any potential combiner stuff in the other toys.
Still, Bulkhead is a swing and a miss for me, glad they've tried him, but it's not quite worked. Skids hasn't knocked it out of the park (at least in photos) but of course I'll be getting him.
Definitely interested to see what's revealed tomorrow. It'll be Pipes and Slammer, won't it?

Well that's another chunk of Pulsecon reveals blown. Not blown as such as this is officially sanctioned. Every convention Hasbro do a reveal a few days beforehand with one of their media partners, usually IGN. And every convention I forget and am surprised when it happens! Thinking about it Hasbro has done quite well with image leaks ahead of Pusecon so far. The only one in general circulation is The Titan - see tmukhub.proboards.com/post/459705/thread - though I have no doubt that certain people have access to the rest of that presentation too. And I don'# expect to see the Titan tomorrow, that'll be a Toyfair thing. Sounds like the reported tightening of security round the factories is working. Yes we know what's coming - you can thanks store & website compute systems for that tmukhub.proboards.com/post/458505/thread - but we've not seen it yet!
