Bomb Burst finally came out his box. It miss grade A+ status by having just one flaw: try transforming it without the jet canopy pinging off. You can see holes where there should be a pin holding it in place, but just like a similar issue with a chest plate on the Siegeker mode there inexplicably isn't one.
Otherwise, it is fabulous. I would rate it above Iguanus if it did not have this one flaw.

How is it I got to last week before realising that the Autobot and Decepticon Legacy (and Legacy Evolution) boxes each have half of that range's picture and form the entire thing if placed next to each other?

It's okay, I didn't realise that at all. But then we only tend to get a single figure at a time, and the boxes are straight into the recycling, so we never get much of a chance to see anyway. And as for looking closely at boxes in the shop, usually a Scraplet's present, so attention is generally on making sure chaos isn't occurring elsewhere...

Galvatron is nice chunky figure. I have him posed with ER Ultra Magnus so they can shoot the ground together.

I can't find the recent conversation we had about there not being more reuses of the Earthrise jet mould, but it occurs to me having a fiddle with Armada Starscream this morning that it might be to do with the shift in size of Voyagers this year. I'm surprised how small Voyager Armada Scream is, not compared to the original (obviously) but to other recent Voyager jets. Then I realised that we've seen a downsize in Voyagers recently - not just the beasts, but everyone commented on how slender Tarn is too. It could be that even Earthrise moulds are now too expensive to put out at the voyager price. I know Dirge is coming as a PR, but he might be excused on the grounds there's no development cost in just reissuing a toy. I'm just thinking that might be why we don't see the ER jet mould outside more expensive exclusives.
Anyway, yes. Armada Scream I've been really looking forward to as Armada is one of my favourite TF lines. He's a bit underwhelming though. Very small jet mode, and although the transformation maintains a lot of the original, the robot is floppy as hell. On mine the bicep swivels are really loose so his arms wobble about and his hip joints are really weak.
It also seems silly to me that, yes, we have his iconic wing sword, but why give us the star sabre when what he really needs is a couple of missile ends to sit in the launchers? Fab that they swing over like the originals, but what's the point when there's nothing to put in them? I can't find an upgrade kit with some either.

I opened Crankcase last night and discovered something I didn't notice with Skids, mostly because the pins in Skids' knees are tight and he has no trouble standing. Crankcase meanwhile is much floppier and his knees are quite loose. Bemoaning the fact that pins in knees aren't the best way to support a figure again (see also, AWE Striker Bumblebee) I noticed that there is actually a ratchet in that figure's knee joint, but the pawl (and yes, I had to look that term up) doesn't reach the teeth of the gear underneath. Same with Skids. So it looks like that mould should have a nice solid clicky knee joint but whether by accident or design, it's been disabled.

Nightprowler released from packaging. That is a very, very nice colour scheme in hand.
This may be heresy, but I think this Cheetor mould is far superior to the original one in BW.

This may be heresy, but I think this Cheetor mould is far superior to the original one in BW. I mean, the point of these updates is to improve upon the originals. Which is difficult with Beast Wars, so if one hits then I'd say that's a success.

I am very fond of the original Cheetor but am aware that the beast mode "could be better" with the front being too bulky.
Previous attempts to fix this have resulted in Cheetor robots which "could be better"! Universe 2, I'm thinking of you especially!
THIS gets both modes just about right, so major points there.
Blackarachnia is good, but a ****er to Transform.
Airazor is the real winner of the beast updates for me, a real improvement on the original.... which itself didn't do an awful lot wrong for a basic!

Pointblank has a Mach Alert/Prowl in him, too. Now with Sideburn a sure thing, I don't think that's off the table.
I'd rather a P/CP retool myself, but that mold probably isn't current enough.

It's hard to argue that. I don't dislike Skullgrin as much as a lot of people seem to, but I don't think he's particularly good either.
He's a very whelming toy.

It just makes me think you need to commit one way or the other. Just do the inner robot, or the pretender shell. Not a hodgepodge of them both.
