It was quite fun though when you didn't have any of a subline and didnt particularly care which you got. Like the first dip in to a new wave of lego Minifigures.
Got my first Sparkabot from Index in the lucky dip. Want to say Fizzle but cant be sure.

For me, that was part of the joy of collecting Beast Wars in particular, when Transmetal 2, Fuzors or whatever first came out. After that, yes, it became a case of asking to see what was in stock. Being able to order a specific TF was a game changer. It's a sod as a small retailer, though. It used to be that I was only able to order assortments, which suited me both for cost and holding stock. Now, most Transformers are solid cases - I rarely want eight of a Deluxe, especially as wholesale costs are nearly triple what they were ten, fifteen years ago. Fortunately, there are a few suppliers that sell split cases, though it may cost me more to buy them as singles. Changing the subject, is it just me or does Battle Changers Rhinox seem like a McDonald's toy? I opened the Battle Changers Optimus Prime yesterday and found him better than the Rhinox and Bumblebee that I opened today, which seem more like cheap toys. Impressive cheap toys, mind, with lots of detail and sturdy construction. I like Rhinox's transformation. Bumblebee's hidden gun is so well-moulded, I didn't even notice it at first - I thought it was just a paint app on his arm. Optimus Prime could do with a bit more articulation, but is a really good toy for £10 these days. |

Because I often open the Transformers I buy I opened Battlemaster Primal last night. Surprisingly complex and took me a few mins to figure out where exactly everything should be to tab together properly. Nice sturdy gun when finished. Not sure the instructions helped really!!

The photo of Optimus on the lion's back is fun but there's something awfully perverse about Convoys riding each other. Heh, it's almost like Hasbro have been to a TMUK pub meet.
