I usually don't like Movie designs but that Primal looks spot-on. Could do with some colour, especially on the robot head. But a very good go

Think I've figured this one: Fold the chest down bringing the head with it, spin it 180°, fold it back up.

And that's assuming this guy has it transformed correctly. Because humanoid to humanoid where both have weird mechanical and organic elements is going to be a tough one to figure out without knowing what either form looks like. And these theft reviews aren't always the best at that when we do know.
For the record I agree, and do think it's correct.

I know that the Optimus Prime is a core/legends/scout/whatever class toy, but even so that doesn't mean that he doesn't need elbows. Definitely one to skip for me.
Optimus Primal, on the other hand, is much more successful. It's a really nice sculpt and decent articulation, and it looks like he'll be worth the £20 I assume he will be when he finally comes out. (That'll be the current £12 for Core class figures, plus some extra for Tigatron, so call it £20. Which will soon become the new price point for core class figures, when they drop the minicon companions next year...) And for some reason I really am getting late-era Beast Wars/Beast Machines vibes from these pictures, which is making me all nostalgic. And makes it work as a Beast figure for me.
The question now is: Will they actually repaint this as Beast Machines Primal? Because I think that the mold would work nicely for that. But they won't - it'll be an all black version as Nemesis Primal. Because of course.

I'd not realised (although the millimetres should have given it away) that those potential Rise of the Beasts figures we've seen so far are actually deluxe scaled - I'd thought they were more Core-sized. Given this, I'm not sure how happy I am with the articulation on Bee and Prime - or more precisely the lack thereof; they have no elbows!
Of course, it's possible (and indeed likely) that these are going to be the RotB equivalent of the Energon Igniters from the Bumblebee Movie, and that there's some other action gimmick that these factory leaks are missing. In which case, if these are meant to be gimmick toys for kids, then that's fair enough. If, however, these are just going to be deluxe-priced figures then I'm going to feel a little cheated...

Bumblebee put all the "collector" toys in Studio Series. Almost the entire Bumblebee Movie toyline was exclusively gimmick toys, like the Energon Ignitors. The only exception were various store exclusives like Charlie's Garage, and the TR Soundwave repaint.
So yeah. It is 100% certain these are that, while the collector oriented figures will be in Studio.

It's wonderful.
An Optimus Primal who transformers into a wearable monkey mask.
Truly unique.
This may be the ULTIMATE Optimus Primal toy.

I love the elastic strap to hold it on. I thought for a minute you had to do that by putting his feet in your mouth.

It's actually a most profound statement.
...just.... Just read it.
It's like when my then two year old looked at a small bug crawling across the earth and said earnestly: "what does it want..?"
Profound...
FUNDAMENTAL CONCEPT.

Just imagine TFN2023. On one side of the room, the Primal maskers. On the other, the Bumblebee maskers.
Then they rush at each other and fight, like in 'West Side Story'.

I wonder if they'll do any more than these two? I'm not holding out much hope given the usual pattern of Prime (with Primal being close enough in this case) and Bumblebee being the two main merchandisable characters, but it'd be nice if there was at least one bad guy. Although, much as I say that Primal has taken the Prime spot, it will be interesting if they don't do a Prime one of these, since Primal's a robot monkey face, and not the standard Prime face, which is the iconic one that people are likely to want to wear. I guess we'll find out... not that soon enough.
