In pain and moving badly anyway, thanks to the wind, but just had a massive fall, hitting the inner side of both knees on the hard wooden floor.

Morning All!
It's Thursday
Yesterday: I expected yesterday to be quiet and restful and it was - the weather made sure of that, absolutely howling round the house. Made it through homegroup in the evening, but weather pains high. Fall last thing really whacked my knees.
Today: Happy Birthday Mum! 30th anniversary of me parting company with my appendix. J out at college and out tonight at ASD group.
Pray Day goes OK, Sinuses, CMT and Head cope OK. Pray we stay protected from the virus.

Appendix Day comes a week after the McCrea staircase fall. I'd spent MOST of that week - Weds-Sat/Sun as a guest in the University Health center thanks to the pain in my back and had been on some high pain killer doses all week. They let me out at the weekend, might have been Saturday, probably Sunday.
Sunday night I went to visit my friend Sarah who lived in Cameron and spent an hour or so there with some friends. At some point my back got bad and I led down on the floor.... and the pain moved round to the front, just above my right hip. I made my excuses and returned home to Williamson. A somewhat disturbed night followed and I woke early the next morning Monday in considerable pain and having a very good idea what was wrong. How I made it up the hill to Founders I will never know - met one person on the way who I knew and asked me if I was OK. The nurse opening up the health centre found me leaning on the door and took me back in. The senior nurse confirmed my suspicions and summoned an ambulance and, for the second time in three weeks, I found myself having a ride to St Peter's in Chertsey. Admited immediately and asked if I needed to ring anyone..... "Hello Mum, Happy Birthday, I'm in St Peter's and they're taking my appendix out tonight!"
Having never had an operation or a general anesthetic before I was rather scared. I can remember the mask going on and the needle going in and then .... nothing. Briefly awake in recovery and then throwing up on the ward in the night. Was there till Thursday when I went home to Kingston. I spent the next week or so recovering and building my walking back up. Had a trip back to RHBNC the next week, accompanied by a friend going for an interview, and didn't return till the weekend after. I'd missed FOUR weeks of lectures and a large proportion of the 1992 cricket world cup. Still not sure how I managed to pass that first year!!!

Morning All!
It's FRIDAY
Yesterday: Some internet fun & games took me out the morning prayer meeting early.... just as the BT Engineer showed up on my doorstep. He was here 2 1/2 hours wandering round various bits of equipment in or near the house. Rest of day OK, but wasn't moving well thanks to the pain in the right knee from Weds night's fall.
Today: Quiet day planned. Hoping storm isn't too bad. J due to be out tonight. Disco then some 80s pop videos is the evening entertainment.
Pray Day goes OK, Sinuses, CMT and Head cope OK. Pray we stay protected from the virus.
Have a good day, stay safe & well.

Off to pick up meds and new specs then lunch out. -Ralph Today we have lunch out for the mother-in-law's birthday. Then to...return the two new pairs of specs. My prescription didn't change at the recent eye test so there was no need for them. My current pair are a bit well used but still usable and I have a perfectly decent spare pair I hardly use. So I bought these others for no reason other than anxiety and I don't like the look of them anyway. I feel rather foolish but I am a firm believer in using things until they break and someone else can benefit from these frames. Better to maybe pick a new pair when I feel like a change and when the anxiety has diminished somewhat. Bloody anxiety. -Ralph

Did the walk of shame to Specsavers. Felt like a right tit and apologised one million times.
Great lunch out. Storm Franklin has arrived so no run today.
It's raining in the kitchen. Balls.
