My only issue thus far with this is that the art style's a little confusing. They seem to have... refined the designs of the focus characters, making them more humanoid in proportion, and losing the odd, squat shapes of the toys. Which actually makes this the most G1-series since G1. And I will, of course, reserve full judgement until I see them in action.

That looks fun. But as already pointed out, it's a bit late. Hasbro seem to have lost the ability with Transformers to coincide the toys and supporting media.

There's a review of this in SFX this month. They say it is... not good. However, it does make clear the premise for the show, which is pretty much what I thought and no where near as interesting as the ideas we had when discussing it on the zoom call a couple of weeks back. Spoiler for show premise, not plots: Spoiler
The Botbots exist entirely inside the mall and are created from everyday items by a storm from a passing energon cloud. The lost bots are just the ones that were in Lost Property at the time; they get spotted by a security guard and separated from the others and the series is about them trying to reunite with the others in a Toy Story style. |

Well, given that they gave the Netflix War for Cybertron series pretty decent reviews, I will, much as I generally love them, take their opinion on this one with a pinch of salt.
And it's not like we won't be watching this anyway. Hell, we sat through all of WFC too, even knowing it could well be terrible. Can't be as bad as Covid, whatever the case.

We've watched a couple of episodes so far, and it's... okay. A few good jokes, and the Conjunx is highly entertained, but some of the humour's not landing for me. Maybe it'll be a Lower Decks thing, and it'll take me a couple of more episodes to get used to the style... If we ever get around to watching any more. The Conjunx has declared it is "more of a daytime watch", which is interesting given I don't get to watch TV during the daytime. So... this may now remain on the "to watch" list forever, or until her resolve crumbles...

Not watched all the episodes yet, but have enjoyed what I've seen.
Do feel sorry for the main characters as they just don't seem to be allowed to win.
Some of the references & puns to being both a robot as well as another object remind me of Beast Wars where the characters were as much of the animal they turned into as well as the robot.

Watched the first episode last night. Not for me. Was bored by the half way point. I love a good cartoon but I think I need narrative more than quickfire gags. I'll put it on at school next wet lunch break and see what the kids think.
