Electrician is in. Sent off loads of quote requests for kitchen repair stuff.
My head has caved in. I do not cope well with contractors in the house during covid times. Opened all the windows. The faulty electrics have set the house alarm off, which has been blaring for about 20 mins.

Why can we never have anyone in who can just be left to get on with it and who keep asking questions every few minutes?

Lateral flow test number 89 ahead of giving blood later today.
89th negative result. Combined with the fact that nobody around me in my real life has been known to have Covid before or after seeing me since the pandemic began, this suggests I still haven't had it (though I know I will get it sooner or later). No transmission in my workplace in the last year and a half either. Reinforces my view that large uncrowded indoor spaces, which is where I spend most of my time, are pretty safe.
BUT
Lateral flow tests have provided welcome reassurance, and I really appreciate them at key times, such as before seeing my dad, or Phil, or the dentist, or the Welsh Blood Service.
And free lateral flow tests are apparently coming to an end.
I am stockpiling! And will be using them more sparingly going forward, rather than routinely twice a week.
On the plus side, vulnerable people are getting a fourth dose after six months, which is good.

I will be hitting the 'order' button on gov.uk every 3 days to get a lateral flow kit until April 1st. It's disgraceful that free tests are being withdrawn when the pandemic isn't over yet. Yes, it looks like it's getting much better (in the UK) but it's not exactly Game Over yet.
Given that Johnson lied repeatedly about not having pissups while the rest of us were confined and cut off from other people it wouldn't surprise me if he still gets free tests after April 1st.

Spent the last few days reorganising the PC area. Mostly gone well but did end up spending 3 or 4 hours dismantling and cleaning the keyboard because a, it was gross b, I couldnt work out where to put the tower so progress had otherwise ground to a halt.
Downside of the endeavour is that the PC is now struggling to access all three hard drives at the same time. Its not the drives which is good. Im hoping its a dodgy cable and not a power supply issue.

I'll have to wait to see what the local education authority says. If they want us to keep testing twice a week then presumably they'll have to keep providing us with the kits, but I would guess if they have to pay for them that will stop sharpish.
My thoughts are like Martin's; if I don't need to test twice a week I won't, but I will keep enough kits so that I can test for reassurance before visiting vulnerable relatives. I come into contact with the virus regularly through children at school so I can never be sure if I've got it or not.

In an entirely predictable move, gov.uk has run out of tests.
Of course.
You tell people free tests are being taken away during a plague and there will be a run on them.
Johnson really is an amoral bastard.

Lost the day to a bad headache (not a migraine) and still in bed. Lost yesterday due to electricity being off and looking for quotes for storm kitchen damage. My big plan to take two days off work to catch up on Uni work has not panned out.

Today's date is a palindrome, whether you write it as 22222 or 22022022 - it's the same forwards or backwards.
Which means after today, if things aren't managed correctly, time could go into reverse.
If we wake up tomorrow and it's the 21st rather than the 23rd, havoc will ensue.

Morning All!
It's Wednesday
Yesterday: Good start to day, excellent lunch out - Sag Poneer with Keema Rice. Far too short a sleep and then a bit of a wobbly late afternoon/early evening with things getting a bit on top of me and my noise tolerance well down. Recovered a bit as evening wore on.
Today: Bit all over the shop this morning. L & J out for lunch. Homegroup tonight.
Pray Day goes OK, Sinuses, CMT and Head cope OK. Pray we stay protected from the virus.
Have a good day, stay safe & well.

SOMEONE left a tall glass on the edge of the draining board. My elbow connected with it and down it went breaking into a million little piece. Silly place to put it, but I'm sure I'll get blamed for not being careful and a tinsy bit, y'jnow ......

Post covid weirdness continues. Walked to the football on Tuesday, 20 minutes each way with 2 hours sitting in between and yet by the time I got home I felt wretched and spent Wednesday utterly shattered. slept for most of the afternoon before going to work. 6 hours there absolutely knackered me and felt crap the entire time, but got home and slept and now feel.... okay. Not good, but not as bad as the period between football and work.
40 minutes of light excercise should not be wiping me out more than 6 hours of working involving moderate lifting and stuff.
