Perceptor is by far the best. Three minicons form a new robot. Great.
The others are just shapes smashed together.

You don't think the others look like a big gun, a shield and a sword? No. They look less convincing than that time Baldrick put on a dress and tried to pretend to be a bridesmaid.

Also, using little people as the equivalent of a robot human shield is sort of unethical.

Going to have to be Perceptor for me, too. Whilst I do think the Star Saber does indeed look kind of like a sword, the other two are more in the “because we say they are” kind of category. So the little man made of even littler men is the winner for me.

The name Skyboom Shield does make it pretty clear! Philistines, the lot of you! If it was called Cloud Broom you could equally say it resembled a cloud and or a broom*.

Perceptor Actually looks like a robot. Grindor is the best individual minicon here too. Requiem Blaster. Er no... Quite good individual mincons though. Better than a lot of the ones that dont have to combine too. Skyboom Shield. Just no..... a vaguely flat thing that can be hidden behind may describe a shield but also a door, a wall, a piece of paper, a towel, a frisbee and a manta ray. Among other things. Utterly rubbish minicons. Car modes are dull but at least functional I guess. Robots are just....... Honestly one of the worst things to come out of Armada. Star Saber. Form a vaguely pointy thing. Its better than the other two and has half way okay minicons.

Using what I wrote in the main poll: So... Never liked any of the Street Action Team in either mode. Combiner doesn't do it for me. I can live with the straight arms but on mine the forearms fold backwards at the elbow. Grindor picks up some points for the team due to being able to be used as a double barrelled handgun Air Defence team are nice but the combined mode connection between Sonar & Jetstorm is tenuous, it's improved on later versions but why wasn't this a 5mm peg into a 5mm hole from the word go? The sword is also very poor at transmitting light up it which is what it was designed to do. Race team is odd: none of them grab me, I like the shield but their colours are very similar to the Destruction team in the same wave. Colour is a recurring problem for this team.... Love the Space team. Their's is probably the best of the combined modes. The Requiem Blaster wins for me. It's a bit missile shooting gun! Star Sabre would do better if my copy would hold together - later versions do and it is drastically improved with the Energon remould at the expense of not looking so good

The poll is titled:-
"What is the best Armada Minicon combined form?"
As a redeco of the Star Saber, it could be argued that the Dark Star Saber and the Star Saber share the same form, merely in different colours...

I'm going to go with the Requiem Blaster here. Yes, it looks like it is combined of different modular components smushed together, but that is quite on theme for it - looking like a space-station assembled from modular components. As a weapon it has the feel of a combined team weapon for a Space themed Sentai, or the sort of thing that a space-themed Kamen Rider might wield as a ridiculous combination weapon finisher for a movie-exclusive Form or something. Which feels kind of on-brand for Armada.
It is to my great regret that I never had one held up by several mini-cons working as a team to aim it, as I think it would probably look even better that way than held as a small gun by a larger toy.
Runner up would probably be the Star Saber. Does it look much like a sword? Eh. Not really. Does it look like the sort of thing a super robot might whack something with and defeat them in a big explosion? Yeah. Basically. Transformers really owes its roots much more to the Super-Robot end of the dial than the Real-Robot end, so anything that leans into "rule of cool" feels right at home to me.

They're all good planes, Bront, but I'll go with Sonar just because he's a slightly more interesting shaped plane, and doesn't suffer from visible, chunky undercarriage as a result.

In Japan these toys are known as: Jetstorm = Mach Runway = Jetter Sonar = Shuttler Seeing the names like this made me think "*surely* Jetter would be a better match for Jetstorm?" Runway & Jetstorm's Wiki notes show that there's an awful lot of material that does have the names Jetstorm & Runway swapped round tfwiki.net/wiki/Runway_(Armada)#Toystfwiki.net/wiki/Jetstorm_(Armada)#Toys
