Was: The Extra Catalogue Sub-Group Poll When I was setting up The Great Catalogue Sub-Group Poll I was aware that there were some issues arising that wouldn't fit into the structure that I devised that gave you one opportunity to vote for each toy once only. So every so often I want to do an extra poll. This won't be every week, but I'll try to do one starting every bank holiday Monday when a few people will be online. I haven't figured out quite all the subjects I want to cover yet but there's a few groups that are split up by years or faction that I thought it would be good to vote on as a whole instead of split up as we have done. |

You could have just done a 2-way poll. It will undermine the credibility of Hub polls if the winner of this poll is not one of the winners of the two lesser polls, so I must vote either Bluestreak or Trailbreaker, and I hope everyone else does likewise. Mind you, even if we all vote for someone we voted for in one of the lesser polls, that doesn't guarantee the victor here will be one of those victors, as their votes may be split while others remain solid. A spotlight will be shone on the arbitrariness of polls!

Not necessarily: it's mathematically possible for both vote winners to have their votes slashed by their voters preferring the toy they voted for in the other poll.
I'll be interested to see how this goes, it is a bit of an experiment to see if I do anymore!

It's true. Sideswipe or Prowl could win if their 4 voters remain loyal while some of the 5 voters for each of Jazz, Mirage and Trailbreaker vote for the guy they voted for in the other poll.
But if there are no new voters, if any toy scores higher here than in the smaller polls, something has gone wrong.

Or, like me, couldn't decide between two the first time around and so made the choice thinking I could vote for the other in the next catalogue.
And then to balance it out, vote for that one this time around to keep both the toy robots happy.
Mind you - another factor could be that we are voting for THE best and not our own favourite (My favourite toy from the Air Strike Patrol is Tailwind, even though he is probably the worst toy in that bunch).
Still deciding what to vote for here.

For me my love of Sideswipe beats Trailbreaker. Llamagod has said he prefers Ratchet, but voted Trailbreaker for the 1984 US 5 set.
He may have been towing the party line cos Turnbull lives nearby though.

The thing is, Prowl can beat Trailbreaker in this poll and it still be logical if the people who voted Trailbreaker in the smaller poll prefer any of the Transformers from the first smaller poll (I think both Phil and I chose Sideswipe over him for this poll, for example).
It's entirely possible for anyone who voted Trailbreaker to prefer all six cars from the first poll!
