Easy choice for Martin this week. I think Horde Trooper is the only standard figure in the line besides Orko which is not based on either the standard male or standard female physique / basic figure mould. Unlike Orko, the Horde Trooper is totally awesome, looks great and is very poseable. I have acquired three. They look good as a group, whether you have them marching in unison or clustered in a range of different poses. This is a great time for generic non-sentient robot troops, what with these and the even better G.I. Joe Classified B.A.T.s, of which I now have four (two standard, two Python Patrol). Martin is very very wrong here. The Horde trooper is not good. Missing the crossbow it was meant to have and the blow apart action feature is temperamental at best or plain doesn't work. Can't say I'm that enamoured with Sun Man. The collar/wing thing just looks odd, much prefer the other interpretations I've seen with actual wings - see collectorsden.co/pre-order-masters-of-the-universe-masterverse-sun-man-action-figure-12187-p.asp I am able to appreciate the significance of it's appearance here. Martin does get something right: Second place for Anti-Eternia He-Man, which is my favourite He-Man, and has replaced Faker in my collection. Unlike Faker he has an axe, a shield and a proper back clip for his sword, and he really looks like he's made out of anti-matter. Apparently he is a character from a German-language audio cassette story. he-man.fandom.com/wiki/Anti_He-ManI don't have either of the other two. Martin AE He-Man is very very nice in the plastic. Burns needs this The winner for me is Clawful, a figure that came out towards then end of my original He-Man buying that I never owned during the day! He's fab!! How can you not love that claw??

I don't own any of these (either in original form or Origins) but I always wanted a Clawful when I was young but never got around to getting one. So I'll vote for him.
Great pun name too.

Think it has to be Horde Trooper for me. I always liked the design of these, and it stands out next to the other three. The gimmick may or may not work, but having handled none of those I'm only going on looks.

But the 'proper fabric' is actually what I dislike about [She-Ra]. That and the awkward head contraption. It's all encumbrance, without serving as practical armour. I didn't realise when I wrote this that She-Ra's head-gear actually acts as a mask with eye-holes to hide her identity if you put it on her upside-down (or is that the right way up?). That would have made so much more sense in the stories than just hoping nobody you know recognises you. Martin

The She-Ra mask was originally designed with the intention to have the eye holes over the face, but during the focus groups all the girls that tested the figure turned the mask upside down so you could see all of her pretty face.
I am still expecting a more Filmation looking She-Ra to be released at some point, especially as they released that style of Tiara with the Chyna figure in the MOTU WWE line.
I went with the Horde Trooper in this weeks poll, for the main reason that I have never owned one before, or even recall seeing an original in person. A fun sculp that you can have fun with putting other characters heads on and having them in disguise. I know Phil mentioned the lack of crossbow that was apparently shown with some earlier, but they never came with the vintage figures, and we know with Stratos being the best example, this lines basic figures only get the same accessories as the originals. Plus the Horde crossbows are lame.
Clawful is a fun figure with his snapping claw, plus you can give his other hand a claw if you have the MOTU WWE Sting figure, that just fits over the smaller claw.
Anti-Eternia He-Man was a figure I originally didn't think looked that great, but an interesting concept on the reveal. But in hand that black and red colour scheme really pop and make a great evil foe to team up with Faker.
I almost forgot about the final figure of Sun-Man. I had both version arrive in the span of 48 hours, after waiting 8 months for the convention exclusive to arrive. One of the connector pieces that hold the arms in the shoulder joint was snapped on mine on the card, but I had a spare Clamp Champ upper body and just swapped them, though the skin tones are slightly different. It is a great addition to the MOTU line and is the best looking of his fellow Ruler of the Sun figures which all be in the line soon enough.

this lines basic figures only get the same accessories as the originals. Origins She-Ra is missing her old battle-axe/comb because she has plastic hair. The convention exclusive Origins She-Ra with hair includes the axe/comb, however. Edit: Doubting myself now. Was it a battle-axe originally, or was it just a comb? Martin

She-Ra maybe the exception as she was released in her own doll line, not under the MOTU banner. Searching through google images it looks like the vintage figure did come with a pink comb, that was later changed in Classics to a comb/axe. That exclusive Origins comb/axe did come with Chyna instead of a sword and shield.
But stock photos with standard Origins release of She-Ra did show her with the comb/axe along with her sword and shield. I mainly recall the Smyths website showing her with all three accessories.

Was it a battle-axe originally, or was it just a comb? Anything can be an axe if operated with sufficient force. So yes.

Thank you, Blot!
I can't believe Clawful did so well. (I bought him cheap earlier in the year, then chucked him out a few weeks later.)

I CANNOT believe Martin is chucking out Origins figures!!! Only a few to date. Faker - I liked having an evil He-Man but hated the orange hair and weapons, so when Anti-Eternia He-Man came along, out he went. Battle Cat - just took up too much space, and I never cared for the colours. Looked bad next to the much classier Panthor. And Clawful - apart from the mismatched claws, he looks like a bloke in bad fancy dress due to the flesh colour on his limbs making his head and mittens look fake. If he was all red, he might come across as a scary creature like Webstor and some of the other monster figures. Martin

The silly thing with the Battle Armour figures is that they are pretty much wearing armour for the sole purpose of it getting damaged. 'Stab Wound Skeletor' and a 'Bloody Chest Slash He Man' regular looking toys would have made much more sense.

Yeah, they don't seem to want to address what happens if you stab them in the non-armoured bits.

With the rotating blast damage effect? I'd be down for that.
As to the poll, it'll have to be the vintage face sculpt Skeletor for me. I've just never liked either of the other two alternative versions, just because it is, indeed, only the torso that they change, making it just look like Skeletor is wearing different colour tank tops. Which, I guess, is very Filmation, just not for me.
The only alternative Skeletor that I ever liked was also the only one I've ever owned - Dragon Blaster Skeletor. Just because that's some seriously bulky armour, AND he has a dragon on his back. And dragons are always better.
