As anyone who collects stuff knows, Things build up and we can't keep everything unless we live in a castle. I have periodical culls and two big ones each year in summer and winter.
Partway through the summer cull and assembliing large piles of stuff to go to the tip or the charity shop. Far, far too much packaging cluttering the place up that can be recycled and assorted toys/books/audios I'm not going to use anymore that can be given away.
Very satisfying!

This has had a cascading effect as I am now trying to reorganise the hobby room. It's like trying to do Jenga in hell.

Feel much better for it.

There is something to be said for having a bit of a clearout every so often. I've been having a bit of a rearrange to get things to fit into my cupboard, and I'm starting to think I may need to do another one meself soon.

The acquisition of New Stuff means some Old Stuff must go so assembling a charity shop pile. I am still finding stuff I bought just for the sake of it during the lockdowns.

It really is incredible how much stuff I bought during the pandemic just for the sake of it. Only recently have I realised doing that (and my diet and general budgeting going to fook) were reactions to the stress.
Even now I am still finding piles of "Why did I buy this? Ah. Covid" stuff to go out the door!

The thing about having a clearout and re-arranging the hobby room is that it becomes a never ending game of Jenga. May need some more Really Useful Boxes.

Reorganising of hobby room and office feels like it will never end. Getting plenty of exercise though.
Another pile of stuff to go to Emmeus. Pile assembled for the tip.
More storage boxes ordered.
Once those rooms are sorted, I can work on Computer Corner in the living room.
I was well overdue for a clearout though.
It never ends.

Another three hours and still not touched the sides. The problem with doing proper reorganising is that the more you look, the more you find you need to deal with and it snowballs from there.
Somehow, found even more stuff for Emmeus and the tip!

Ten cardboard boxes arrived and I screamed when I saw I had enough stuff to fit...eleven.
Another four Really Useful Boxes due tomorrow.
How I can I need more storage for less stuff??
More stuff identified for Emmeus and the tip.

Is it because you are storing things _better_? Sometimes better storage will take more square-footage than just "chucking all the crap in a box". That is something I am working through at the moment. I can keep all of my currenty Transformers if I just shove them into two Really Useful boxes, and then not know what is where and have to dig through them like I am mining bauxite to find anything. Or I can decide to ruthlessly hack away at the collection until I have a much smaller group of survivors and have hope of being able to display some and find the rest easily. Once I am back on my feet some further harsh decisions have to be made.
I am however glad that I am no longer a "Transformers Collector". Now I am a person who likes Transformers and sometimes buys the toys, but the days of this being an actual collection are past. In much the same way as I am not a Gunpla collector, I am a person who builds Gunpla. Heck, I've given thought to disposing of some of the kits I have built because... eh...they are built now and I have done the bit that will give me joy with that particular kit. Some kits will definitely stay because they are customs or designs I really like, others might not because the owning of that mecha was not the point, the building of the kit was.

Time for the traditional 6-monthly clearout. Lots of boxes ready to go to charity shop.
Also found too much packaging which needs to go to recycling once stuff is taken out. Then I shall need to order some more Really Useful Boxes.
