Been having a bit of a clear out in the past few weeks too, as part of reorganising the flat a bit to make it a bit nicer for my wife's recovery when she's out of hospital.
It's been quite therapeutic to make some space and get rid of stuff, but I sometimes also despair looking at how much there still is.
Also, though it shouldn't surprise me this late in the game, it was amazing seeing how much space was made by just discarding packaging

Yup. I try to only keep the really nice/unique/special packaging now.

Same, it's just needless clutter.

I've somewhat solved my addiction to packaging by a) buying less stuff and b) restricting my TF buying to vintage stuff were the packaging is part of the experience (and let's be honest, the price). We moved into a new house 6 years ago with a small loft above the garage and a big loft above the house - the main loft is still empty!

Box of books donated to charity on Friday and assembling another pile to go shortly. Getting much better at moving on stuff I know I will only read once. Not bad books, just read-once-only ones.
It also helps that I have regained my pre-pandemic library habits!

This came into my mind this week, as I was looking at the shelves and preparing to charity shop the third copy of "On Basilisk Station" and "The Short Victorious War" I've owned over the years. I think I've rebought them approximately once every ten years on average. Despite having owned legal .PDF ebooks of the first nine books in that series for over 20 years... This may fall under the category of "I never really learn".
