Could be DC has been unwilling to get on board?
And it's Eaglemoss, not Hatchette

Nice trade dress. Addresses my one big complaint of partwork books by having the actual name of the book on the spine.
Can't say I'm inspired by the initial line-up. Intrigued to see what might come out further down the line.

There's some not bad stuff in there.
Tower of Babel, Man of Steel and JLA Year One are all pretty good, as is Batman and Son. I have a soft spot for A Death in the Family.
Hush is very pretty to look at as is Public Enemies.

I also have a soft spot for Death in the Family and Hush (when Jeph Loeb was good). Just not sure I need to own them. I do like that trade dress though.

Saw the first book in RS McColls. Felt very thin compared to the huge Dredd partworks volume I picked up today. Still, it is only £3! I will likely grab one to see what the presentation is like.

It's Hush not sure if it's split in half or not.

It felt too thin to be all of it.

Well I picked up #1 at the Special Introductory Price. It's fine for what it is. It doesn't feel as nice in hand as Hachette's books do though I can't quite put my finger on why. Maybe the dirty big crease mark down the full length of the cover is influencing my opinion. It's a no-thrills presentation (the back matter is quite poor and you'll see no mention of Bill Finger) but it's a hardback of half a decent story for £3 so nowt to complain about really. Good to see this series exist. I may not be a fan of Modern DC but nice to see that companies work get the 'partwork HC' treatment in newsagents.
Boggles my mind that Hush was 2002-2003 though. Feels like last week that was coming out monthly!!'

We now have the 2nd of their bumper subscriber specials - Infinite Crisis.
Up to the first volume of Waid/Perez - The Brave and the Bold and Green Lantern: Secret Origin.
Upcoming is The Death of Superman and the first half of The Long Halloween. So obviously we'll get part 2 soon enough.

Man, that's going to suck if you're in the middle of a collection.

I heard about this last night. I was a subscriber to the Batman collection, but at the start of the year after the collection hit around 100 the books just stopped. They claimed they were consolidating their customers onto online-only after losing distribution through smiths etc, but they never got going again.

This is a shame. They've been putting out some nice stuff under their Hero Collector brand that no-one else is doing. I've stocked some in my shop that I had through Diamond - testing the waters with the aim of ordering direct.

Possibly explains why the TF chess set was going to be a kickstarter and not a proper partwork.
Shame to see them gone, but without Smiths to help launch anything new, it was going to be tough.
