Post your tips for surviving the next few days here.
A few to start with:
1. Put on a damp shirt straight out of the washing machine. Works well when you have to walk somewhere in the heat and want to arrive dry and cool rather than sweaty.
2. (From Mr Turnbull.) Put your socks in the freezer overnight.
3. Keep curtains closed, and only open the windows if the air outside is cooler than inside.
4. Put any chocolate you own in the fridge.
5. Don't leave your friend's MotU figures in the back of the car (Phil).

I like the T-shirt idea.
My tip: enjoy the heat! It won't last long and soon we'll be back to rainy stormy British summer...
But stay Sun-wise and drink plenty of water.

To cool feet, you just get a bag of frozen peas. Then you wrap it with a tea towel and drop it on your feet. They are then nice and chilled.

To clarify: Put _clean_ socks in fridge prior to wearing them, not dirty socks prior to washing them.

Attach kitchen foil to your windows to reflect the sun...
...At a risk that your neighbours will think it's to reflect your heat lamps in because you're growing something inside.

I built a Porch on to the front of the shed earlier in the year. Best decision Ive made this year.
Its north facing so gets almost no sun and channels a glorious breeze across it.
Shed remains amazingly tolerable, I think because the roof is the only part thats not insulated.

1. Sit with your feet in a bowl of cold water
2. Hydrate
3. Keep curtains and blinds closed.
4. Hydrate
5.Once the outside is cooler than the inside, open windows and do what you can to generate airflow (I'm going for opening windows at night, and closing them again in the morning.
6. If in doubt, hydrate.
