Enjoyable first episode, sets the scene well, the cast are all good and puts me in mind of early S1 animated (which is a good thing). Animation is good and the flashback stuff is handled well.

I think it's been done in such a way you could maybe make it a continuation for any number of canons if you squint hard enough.
