It's only 3am here. I'm not expecting things to be taken down before 8.

I left a few Diary downloads after I watched, to see what would happen. Because Disney locks all your DLs when the subscription is renewed, so I suspected these would too.
But nope! They're still watchable!
Now I really wish that I could have snagged Benedict Society when I tried thursday.

Disney! If you need more money, start releasing your Marvel and Star Wars shows on Blu-ray for those of us who aren't interested in your streaming service.

I mean yeah, I generally buy all the shows I *really* want to see, from streamers I don't subscribe to. Hell, even after I got Paramount+, I still buy all the treks, and Earthspark. So far, only Paramount+ and HBO Max have a good track record of releasing their original content (P+ more than Max), and I've been happily giving them money for it.
And Netflix habit of releasing some of a series, but never all of it, to force you to subscribe and see the rest of it pisses me off (voltron, she-ra, stranger things, tales of arcadia).

Martin I agree, but their corporate strategy still says no. ( Maybe they could revive their old 'from the vaults' strategy for physical media, but I wouldn't hold your breath. It would still cost them money. -Ralph

WHAT. I didn't even know there was a second season! Having been forced to resort to 'other means' to watch season two because of Disney's short notice show yanking, I finished The Mysterious Benedict Society last night. That has to be one of my favourite shows of recent years. I will buy the books to find out what happens next.

It was a really good show! My daughter has the first book at least, and she liked it.
I remember hearing it unfavourably compared to A Series of Unfortunate Events, but that's just wrong, it's so much better. I couldn't be doing with Events, found it kind of icky and mean-spirited. Quirky and dark, but in an unpleasant way.

Totally agree. I tried Lemony Snicket but couldn't get on with it. They aren't books I recommend to kids.
